SingaporeQuaint luxury ryokan tucked away from the main attractions of Yufuin. It’s a short drive from the “city center”, convenient enough to enjoy the buzz out and return to a peaceful restful night. Shuttle is provided by the ryokan to/fro city center but we didn’t make use of it because we drove. Shuttle to return to ryokan was 5pm which was too early for us to call it a day. We had to get dinner outside as we didn’t manage to book half board. Only breakfast was included in our booking. The breakfast was very yummy. It’s a pity we didn’t get to try their dinner. Well, next time… The room was very clean and spacious. Even though we felt very rested, we would have preferred firmer pillows. The pillows were a tad too soft for neck support. We love the private onsen the most. It’s so nice to be able to dip into the onsen as and whenever we feel like it. We were reluctant to leave as it was just so nice. Absolutely love love!! The staff were most friendly and helpful. They made us feel really at home. Thank you.

AustraliaIt was a little difficult to find and not sign posted very well. The onsen in our room was very hot and we had to add a lot of cold water to get it to a safe temperature.
Yufuin Rakuyu was a lovely traditional style ryokan with private onsen in the rooms. It was an out of the way property at the base of a mountain. We had a traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast whilst we were there. The staff were extremely friendly and keen to please.

Singaporeit is quite a distance from the town area/ Yufuin station (approximately 10 minutes by car) but not to worry as there is shuttle service. if you need to take a taxi, it is about 1100yen from Yufuin station to Yufuin Rakuyu, which is reasonable and convenient.
this is the most relaxing stay I have had in Japan! the room was beautiful and we loved the private onsen. we could adjust the temperature with a cool water tap which was great as the onsen water exceeded 46degree Celsius on our second afternoon there! every unit is a house on its own, so it was very private. the in-room facilities were excellent, super clean and well maintained. we were also impressed by the breakfast and dinner, every item was delicious and presented so beautifully. finally the staff were helpful, attentive and professional, I am only sorry I forgot to ask for their names , I hope they did not find us rude for that :) we would love to return again. our many thanks to the team at Yufuin Rakuyu, for making the visit memorable.

Everything! There was a staff welcoming us from when we drove into the area, helped us with the luggages, and led our way to the room. The room was very comfy, quiet, and private. The outdoor onsen was amazing. The atmosphere was relaxing and calm. We also enjoyed the food a lot, both dinner and breakfast. All staffs were friendly and helpful. Nothing to complain. The amenities were also great quality.

SingaporeThe private in room onsen is small. The public onsen was closed. The food is not spectacular. There’s no cosy area to sit around after dinner. We feel like we were chase back to the room.
It’s a lovely property that’s very new neat nice and clean. Teh whole place is very well kept with beautiful landscape.
