Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaWhen we arrived, there were not keys to our room in the key box as informed. When we asked the staff member she said that the previous client had not returned them. She then showed us to a room down stairs in the basement which was not the room that we had booked and paid for. Still with no keys! Our room was listed as “Double Room with Mountain View”. There was no mountain view and the room we were given was very different to the images in our booking. When we asked the staff member she said that our room had been given to someone else. We waited for a few hours to be given a different room upstairs as the room we had was unacceptable. This was only by asking multiple times. This room was still not the correct room but I must say that it was actually warm and comfortable enough.
Great location to the ski resort

JapanThe Room was pretty small with a massive heater that is impossible to not have pointed at the bed. We had to turn it off for the night as the room was getting boiling hot, and then wake up to turn it on middle of the night, repeat 2 or 3 times as our feet were getting cooked. There is no blinds in the room only paper windows that let all the light in and there was a street lamp pointed directly into our room so bring an eye mask. The bed was very stiff and you could feel the springs in the mattress.
Good location right next to the mountain.

AustraliaDo NOT stay here! This place is completely overpriced. I had friends stay nearby in an airbnb house with complimentary ski gear for everyone to borrow, and a nice comfortable house for 5 for the same price. This place is dangerous - huge icicles hung over the entrance, snow was heavy on the roof and no one was clearing it. If snow icicles fell on someone they would be seriously injured or killed. There is NO heating between 10am and 5pm - so if you have a day where you can't ski, you are cold and uncomfortable in your room. The wifi was not working all the time. There are no towels other than a tiny onsen towel. The host is Chinese - no English or Japanese spoken. The communal bins were overflowing morning and night. The smell of diesel was strong throughout the building, mixed with terrible bathroom and rubbish smells. The female bathroom is onsen style - open, no stalls. A single wet bathmat on the floor entrance. Nowhere to hang towels once you are in the shower area. The bathrooms are old and need updating - the toilet stall doors almost touched my knees when I was using the toilet. The place is noisy on weekends, I thought the room next to me was doing some demolition at night, that's how loud the noise was! The following night I could hear the snoring in the room next to me. Windows were cracked and a cold breeze was ever present while trying to sleep. The room had tatami mats, despite the images showing western beds. I was cold at night. This place is uncomfortable, expensive, dangerous and a complete disappointment. I don't want anyone else to have the experience I had!!
The location is good, it's NOT ski in ski out though. It's a 5min walk to the bottom of the Sunrise Express gondola.

JapanThe staff only speak Chinese. The bed in the room is positioned as your face placed just in front of the warm air from the heater, making it impossible to sleep with the heater on at night. (If you leave it on, your face will dry out from the hot air, which would be a disaster.) The bathroom has a soaking wet bath mat left as it is. Although there is a bathtub, there is no hot water filled in it. This hotel showed no intention of providing a comfortable stay for its guests. The roof is covered with an incredibly thick layer of snow. The path to the hotel entrance is narrow, forcing you to walk directly under the roof. Given the hotel's apparent lack of concern for its guests, as mentioned above, I couldn't help but worry whether they were properly clearing the snow off the roof. If the snow were to fall, you could be buried alive and die. If you don’t want to worry about risking your life, I do not recommend staying at this hotel.

United StatesShower amenities were communal, which I wasn't expecting but overall not a deal breaker at all for such a short stay!
Very lovely hotel, very friendly and accommodating staff! I would describe it as a good middle-ground between a Airbnb and a traditional hotel. I enjoyed my night very much!
