We were a bit hesitant in booking this hotel but reviews were good. We had nothing to complain about. Great location, staff friendly and clean rooms. Located just off Main Street so had convenience yet no loud noise. Super happy.

The breakfast was a little light and could be improved with a few minor changes.

We upgraded to a larger room and found it very comfortable and had all the features we needed. Very friendly and helpful staff as well as a convenient location makes this a very good place to stay in Kyoto.

Their “popular” salad as breakfast is a joke. They added a handful of shredded chicken in response to earlier comments. It’s just laughable. They really should up their game or stop offering breakfast.

Nice location, but no cab drivers have ever heard of the place. Bring written directions.

The window wasn't properly isolated and was producing constant air drafts, compromising the sleep. The bed was under the window.

There isn't a wardrobe or clothes rail but just 2 metal pegs on the wall. That's fine for summer, but there's limited space to hang bulkier winter-wear. This hotel is easily confused with its cousin, the Tassel Hotel, which is in a different part of town. Be forewarned since our taxi driver punched in the wrong Tassel hotel in his GPS.

Great location & nice rooms at a reasonable price. The breakfast spread is simple but satisfying comprising pastries and croissants, and a fresh salad with chicken. Fresh towels and gowns are provided daily. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

Location is close to a variety of site seeing and shopping opportunities, and a large variety of restaurants and cafes. The hotel itself is down a side street so you do avoid some busier foot traffic, but close enough you can get to everything easier. There's a bus stop a block or two away from the hotel, and subway stations aren't too far away. Room was nice and clean, and had enough space for two larger suitcases. The hotel does have a single washer/dryer you can use, so if you plan on doing laundry here just make sure to grab it whenever you get a chance (we got lucky and didn't have to wait for it to be free). The hotel will hold on to your luggage before your check in, in case you get to the city earlier and want to explore without lugging your suitcases around. We only stayed for one night, but I wish we'd had at stayed at least two to really enjoy everything.

Small yet stylish rooms in a quaint Kyoto neighborhood with several world class and Michelin starred restaurants within walking distance. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating … the airline lost our luggage and the hotel staff helped coordinate and receive the delivery of our (very large and heavy!) suitcases. Staff was cheerful and attentive every time we passed through the lobby. Would stay here again!

Good central location. There are two subway lines near-ish. The bus stop is also a just a couple of blocks away to get you to the train station. This seems like a business hotel that was great value for money. There are bunch of good restaurants nearby.

The location wasn't the best as going to Kyoto Station wasn't easy. The closest Shiyakusho-Mae Station was a 7 minute walk away but there wasn't a direct line to Kyoto Station, so we had to transfer trains. If we didn't want to transfer, we needed to walk around 15 minutes to Karasumaru-Oike Station.

Really inexpensive and had everything we needed! The rooms were a good size and the staff was friendly and helpful.
