What’s not to like about these hotels?!

This version of Dormy Inn is sublime, so perfect I never want to leave. The Matsumoto hotel is very close to the station with mountain view’s even from the onsen which is on the 10th floor. The special treat is apple jelly made from local fruits.

The only thing I didn't like was the noise from the trains as the railway station is across the road. But, being so close also makes it convenient.

Exceptional hotel in every regard. Room was super clean, comfortable and large by Japan standards. The staff I encountered all spoke good english and were very helpful and friendly.

Fabulous hotel, including traditional Japanese traditions such as leaving your shoes in the foyer in lockable lockers. Onsen was really special and the room was designed well with beautiful tatami mats and rice paper sliding windows. Staff were extremely helpful.

The hotel was amazing—so clean and welcoming! There were many thoughtful details that made our experience exceptional. From the public baths and sauna, that had creams and beauty accessories, to the evening treats like ice cream and noodles, everything was delightful. We truly enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back someday!

We were charged an extra 300yen for parking our car 1.5 hours before check-in. A little bit steep for 90 minutes considering we are hotel guests, and we were leaving early the next morning thus freeing up the spot. The check-in machines were annoying: a person ended up doing the check-in for us at the counter as they could not solve the issue either. Helpful staff.

We loved this place, due to its design, comfort and little extras that made the stay so enjoyable. Clean, comfortable room, very cozy. Completely dark and quiet at night. Nice view over Matsumoto and the mountains. Beautiful outdoor and indoor Onsen and small sauna. Couple of free things that sweetened the experience: very tasty soup in the evening, popsicles next to the Onsen, welcome drink. Good location, close to restaurants, could walk to the castle. The room is rather small, but normal for Japan and well designed to feel spacious.

Check in took a little time.

This hotel was close to the station and easy to access. Room was fantastic, lovely and spacious. Bathroom didn’t have a bath, so I had a rooftop onsen which was lovely. Elevators were nice and quick, too. We arrived early, so the staff held our luggage and after we checked in, it was in our rooms.

Beautiful hotel, very clean, traditional style with tatami on the floor you should leave your shoes when entering this may be an inconvenient for foreigners but it’s like habit when done it’s comfortable and cozy. Breakfast is one of the best tried in Japan. Very nice onsen. Room is nice and clean. Staff very kind and English speaking. Free drinks during your stay.

The pillows were not great, maybe more typical for the locality. We didn't complain or ask for an alternative. The room was small but not too small, however the bed set up was next to a wall and you can only get in and out of the bed on one side.

The location was good, just a short walk to the train and bus station in Matsumoto.
