Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaWished there was a private, Taito friendly Onsen space that could be booked for those not able to use the public ones.
The free ramen and ice cream was a nice treat. Also loved the traditional matting on the floor and the pyjamas were super comfy!

JapanI didn't really dislike it, but since we stayed for two nights, it would have been better if they had changed the dinner menu (they served ramen for late-night dinner, which was very yummy). Another issue was that on the first night, there was an elevator machine sound running all night since our room was near the elevator, and we heard it all night. However, on the second day, the problem was resolved.
The Onsen was very clean and well-maintained, offering a full range of services such as a shampoo bar and sauna, which were fantastic! The breakfast was worth the price, especially if you enjoy a traditional Japanese breakfast. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone.

JapanNone. The hotel met my expectations.
This is my 2nd time staying at an Onyado hotel, the first time was in Nara and I can say that the service is consistent. Stayed here for one night after a hike in Kamikochi. The hotel was accessible, a few minutes walk from the station. Check-in and out were quick. Staff are polite and friendly. The facilities were also good.Basic amenities in the room and the public bath, complimentary bottles of water, and some snacks were provided. The room was spacious, quiet, and clean. The public bath, although small, was a great treat after a day of hiking. It was clean, and complimentary yakult and ice cream were provided. Breakfast was decent, with good selections of mostly Japanese food. The free late-night ramen was also a treat. Will definitely stay again.

IsraelThe hotel operates as a traditional Japanese inn, which means it is Tatami paved. You need to take off your shoes and leave them at the entrance. The highlight for me was the public bath (one for men and another for women), exactly what I needed after two days of hiking with bag packs.

United StatesOnly minor complaint is that the light in the hallway of the room is automatic, so if you get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, you get a bright light in the face. (Other people have made this note as well; taking the key out of the slot doesn't prevent it.) Truly, this was the only fault for us. We absolutely loved this place!
The staff were amazing. They were very helpful and inviting. We felt so welcomed. Location was great! It was close to the train station, but with the blinds pulled, you can't hear anything. It's easy to get around Matsumoto. We loved our room, which was decently sized with a comfortable bed. The onsen is fantastic, especially the open air portion, and the guide to help newbies makes everything clear. There are ice pops in the afternoon and Yakult in the morning. The late night ramen was a fun bonus!
