Very nice traditionell Japanese Hotel with super Onsen. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Free drinks and even a free late night Soba was included. The bed was very comfortable. Everything was perfect.

The room was a bit small, but the great design and facilities/amenities made up for that.

Really enjoyed the Japanese style of the hotel. The staff worked so hard to make it a great experience for guests. The little extras like the evening soba service was greatly appreciated too.

The Onson was fabulous, the free hot drinks downstairs’ , the welcoming drink were all very generous and welcoming. 3 weeks travelling in Japan and this has been our best hotel.

Pillows were not great (one of the worst I have ever come across in Japan). We lost a bag of laundry in the laundry room and went to ask the reception twice if anyone found them, but both times the reception staff don't seem to understand English that well and were unable to help.

Loved the communal feel created by the franchise - you have to take off your shoes at the entrance and sanitise luggage wheel, I really enjoyed walking around the hotel without shoes, it makes the place feels like home. We thoroughly enjoy the welcome drinks, the night soba where all the guests congregate, the well-equipped onsen area although very busy at times, the manga area, the popsicles etc. I also think the room is optimally designed and anticipates every need, so although the room was the smallest on our trip, I did not feel claustrophobic and actually felt very cozy instead.

We like the tatami floors everywhere including the hallways and the elevator. We like everything. Best accommodation we stayed in Japan. Relaxing. Good value. And also the complementary hot/cold drinks, yakult in the morning, soba in the evening, and ice block/ ice cream on stick after the hot bath was lovely. Really nice view and facillities we’ll come back again. Very friendly staff too. Thank you! We enjoyed our stay 😊❤️

Amazing hotel in the centre of Matsumoto. The room was big enough for two people. The double bed was slightly smaller than a western double but still comfortable. Very nice onsen with indoor and outdoor baths. Staff was very welcoming. Would definitely stay here again.

Well designed, lovely hotel with tatami throughout. It feels much higher end than its price suggests. Happy staff giving off good vibe. Great onsen facilities, better than the 5* we were in the following day and well located close to the station. Excellent laundry facilities. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Matsumoto.

Everything was 10+ for us, nothing to complain. If we come back to Matsumoto this hotel is a no-brainer for us.

I liked everything about this hotel but my most favorite part was that we could walk barefoot in the entire hotel, a lot more hotels could do that. The check-in was smooth, our luggage was placed in our room by the staff, staff who was friendly and helpful during our entire stay there. The room was clean and the dimensions perfect, not too small (there's a nook big enough to fit 2 huge suitcases) - plus, we had a view of the train tracks which for us is a plus (if you close the windows the noise from the train is diminished so no problem here). They have this amazing onsen that you can use from 3PM until 10AM (one of the pools is built under the open sky which is the best thing when it comes to onsens); after taking a bath you can check their pretty extensive manga collection (there are chairs and a desk where you can sit and read to your heart's content) and have ice cream (for free). You can have free coffee and juice and also a free late evening snack (soba/ramen mostly). 5 mins walk from the train station. Seriously, I can't imagine what is there not to like about this hotel (considering also the price which is more than fair).

Even though Matsumoto was little more than a rest stop in our itinerary, this hotel ended up being my favourite of the trip! The highlights: complimentary ramen served in the evening (not instant noodles... actual proper ramen!), and the free ice-cream outside the onsen. Also: the rooftop onsen was probably my favourite of the trip, with a great view of the city.
