Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeThey do not replenish drinks or toiletries in your room during non-cleaning days. So basically, you'll have to wear the same socks supplied for you to wear in-house for two days. Though you could request new ones from the reception quite easily. The skin care are only be available at the onsen, so please do not depend on the hotel for skincare.
The room is considered spacious enough for two. More peaceful than the other location with lesser crowd around the district. They've a luggage weighing scale in the reception. Love that. First-time guest might want to take note that nearest exit to the hotel is in the tunnel from subway Yotsubashi to Keihen Line.

The location was perfect. The hotel was near 2 train stations but away from the buzz and noise. I love the no-shoes policy, as it makes the whole place so clean.

United StatesThe bed and pillow are not comfortable at all. The pillow is too thin and hard (I usually love thin pillows)
The location is great. There's also an convenience store next to it. Very quiet due to its noise isolation and the location (business district so it's very quiet at night and weekends). Great amenities (especially the onsen). The breakfast is also very good (especially the tempuras; they were comparable to the restaurant we waited one hour to get in).

SingaporeThe train station exits have closing time! The nearest subway exit with elevator (the rest all stairs) is Yodoyabashi exit 15, which is not very near. There is no view since I only stayed in 3rd floor.
This was the best I have stayed in! The staffs are very friendly and the hotel is very near subway Kitahama exit 21 or Yodoyabashi exit 21. There is a Lawson right below the hotel. The hotel comes with free onsen which opens over the night. There is FREE laundry washing inside the onsen area and drying service for only 100yen. There after, there are free Yakult, ice cream and ice cream waffle to eat at any time. Free soba is only until 11pm. The room is spacious and designed in ryokan style. FULL tatami. Cool.

Not your usual hotel: with tatami floors throughout the entire building shoes are not allowed but locked away upon entrance. you can also bring them to your room with a plastic bag. The room is spacious with modest Japanese style decor. Top floor facilities include laundry, onsen, icream and vending machines. Good spot if you want to experience Japanese style living.

United StatesThe size of the room was a bit small for our family, and the floor (tatami mats?) wasn't as clean as the other ryokan where we stayed, but we just kept slippers or socks on the whole time.
The breakfast was one of the best we'd had in Japan, included sashimi - tuna and salmon, the usual porridge with Japanese fermented mix-ins, scrambled runny eggs, salad including steamed broccoli, tomatoes, and Japanese dressing, tempura (shrimp, sweet potato, pumpkin, chicken, eggplant), soft-boiled eggs, and pastries. They had to-go cups for the espresso machine, too, which wasn't common (we'd stayed at Hyatt, Hilton, and another ryoken the same trip). The onsen on the top floor was included and fantastic, had a COLD PLUNGE, a face oil and lotion, all the amenities to get dressed afterwards, and the free popsicles (coconut, and vanilla with a chocolate nut coating) were both delicious. I enjoyed a popsicle while using one of the two free massage chairs. Our room was kind of small - somehow I booked one queen bed for three people, but since we only stayed one night and didn't need to fully unpack our two large suitcases (there wasn't room to do so), it didn't bother us too much. They do make you take off your shoes and lock them in a shoe locker, but we always remembered our keys when we went downstairs, so it wasn't a big deal, and I appreciated the added cleanliness it offered. They also make you clean your suitcase wheels through water. When we checked out, we were able to leave our bags, no extra cost, as long as we picked up the same day. I actually found the ryokan to be MUCH less expensive than the other places where we stayed in Japan, especially when you include all the free amenities. A cold plunge in the states would run $20 itself, and the breakfast would've been at least $80 including tip/tax where I live in California.

AustraliaLocation wise it’s a bit out of the main tourist areas but close enough to metro station & only a couple stops away from Shinsaibashisuji. Also our sink wasn’t working well pretty much from day 1 but due to short stay we don’t bother asking them to fix it. Also be mindful room cleaning is extra cost but they give you free towels everyday & does empty your bin.
Free onsen, very comfortable & lots of freebies such as ice cream, all you can eat ramen & breakfast (paid) is amazing!! Super friendly staff and love the fact the whole place does not allow you to wear shoes inside so feel super clean.

- location was good, quiet but not boring, easily accessible from the train station and for Uber. A Lawson is on the ground floor of the building, very convenient - employees were very nice and helpful - onsen, really nice - as always with this chain of hotels, good equipment and amenities : welcome treats, evening ramen, massage chairs, free ice creams, yakult

United KingdomThe room size was challenging with two small to medium size suitcases. Its also a fairly basic room. We're a couple that travels pretty light so thats worth bearing in mind if your not light travellers. That said, overall i'd still give the hotel a 9.
We spent 4 nights here and the rooms are pretty compact which makes it challengjng for that timescale with baggauge. The hotel is pretty well located, its quiet and close to some good coffee shops. The Onsen was good with complementary snacks and drinks in the lounge area. We used their complementary laundry machine too which was helpful. Ramen at 9.30pm was a nice touch which we used once. Coffee and wifi good too. We didnt use breakfast, youre in Osaka baby!
