We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Staff is very friendly. The hotel room is really quiet and good for sleep. it is walking distance to subway. The convenience store is next door. It locates in the very central area of OSAKA CBD. The onsen is cool with 2 big pools and 2 small tubs.

ItalyThis hotel has Japanese styled rooms, which are small but well furnished. The staff is very kind and there is a large common bath at the 13th floor. I highly recommend staying if you need to stay in Osaka and you need to rest.

BrazilThe staff in the reception was terribly trained and couldn`t speak any word in english. I arrived with my wife sick and their card machine wasnt working. I tried 4 different cards (that were working everywhere, including the store next door). Instead of letting me check in and solving the operational problem, they transferred the problem to me. Even with my credit card and deposit accepted on the system. At the end, I had to go to an ATM and couldn`t pay by credit card, the method i wanted. Besides all that, the room was really small and the lobby was a complete mess, with more and 20 luggages “stored” in the check in area.
Maybe only the location

United Arab EmiratesThere's no room cleaning. Shoes have to be removed at the hotel entrance and put back on also at the hotel entrance. All restaurants close to the hotel close at a very early hour so you have to take a taxi to an area that is more lively.

SpainWe booked this hotel based on pictures and reviews. First, the no shoes allowed inside the hotel, that may sound as a ryokan, something even fun, but it is not. The area where you leave your shoes smell really bad, luckily you spend there a few minutes only. The floor is very cold, everywhere, very cold, so not wearing shoes was not that confortable, bring your own warm socks if you stay here in winter. The onsen is beautiful but small, only 6 showed stations, and very crowded, at all times, men onsen is even more crowded. There are not many amenities but it is ok. The hotel was very very crowded, even if our stay was during December, I guess there is not a low season anymore. Do not expect a quiet hotel, there's always people and noise. Washing machines are always on use, the resting area is always busy, massage sofa are always occupied, it is busy hotel. Breakfast looks much better in pictures. We are very used to Japanese style breakfast, that was not the problem, it was more that the food was not as tasty as expected and you end up eating fried food everyday, what is not our favorite choice. Last thing I would like to mention is something that happened during our check out. We did it before the scheduled 11 am time, when we finished all the returning key etc we asked for a bottle of water to the man who attended us, and he say no, he said we already did the check out so he will not give us water.
For us location was very good, because we didn't want to be at the crowded areas like Namba our Umeda, you can easily be there in a 30 min walk, but wanted to be far from there. We are very familiar with Osaka and walking the city is easy for us. If you are looking for a more centric location this is probably not your area. For us comunal bath, onsen, is a must, so this is also a reason why we decided to stay here. The onsen is very well designed, it is beautiful. Room is confortable, and the people working that the breakfast area were very very nice, probably what we could highlight. They were the best of our stay.

United StatesThe bed itself was not great and the pillows were quite uncomfortable. We talked to the front desk to see if there were alternatives and they tried to help us but the pillows we got were the exact same as those in the room, thin and like a rock, not the best for the neck. The baths were nice, but there is no water available in the rest area, so if you want to drink water you have to go through the changing rooms and go to a water fountain. Unless you go to the local store, it wasn’t clear where to get filtered water within the hotel itself unless you were in the bath’s changing rooms. Small things that would have made our stay more comfortable and that we found in other places.
The traditional style with tatami and leaving your shoes at the entrance was nice and made the stay more comfortable. The size of the room was alright for two people with big luggages. The baths are also open the entire night which is really nice when you come back from a long touristy day.

PhilippinesThis has been the first truly disappointing place we've stayed at during our trips to Japan. Primarily, it's because of the amenities. We came to this one fresh off our stay at the nearby "regular" Dormy Inn a few blocks away expecting an upgrade. But, we were sorely disappointed to find out that this supposed "premium" version of Dormy Inn provided fewer amenities than its more affordable counterpart. For one, their beverage machines and water dispenser are only available inside Hatago, their restaurant. Hatago is only open from around 6am to 9:30am and 9:30pm to 11pm. So, if you ever get thirsty outside those hours, then you're out of luck. In addition to that, hotel staff will try to stop you from entering the restaurant during its morning hours to check if you availed of their breakfast buffet service. Now, if you try entering the restaurant after their breakfast services, and if you're lucky enough to find out that its doors are still unlocked, then prepare to walk through a sea of passive aggressive, obviously disgruntled hotel staff who are trying to have their own meals inside the restaurant. They'd sometimes even block you from approaching the dispensers and reluctantly fill up a bottle of water or cup of coffee for you instead. We mean, they'd help you, but the whole experience leaves a bad taste in the mouths of both parties involved, especially when you consider that this could all have been avoided if management placed a couple of those dispensers at the lobby just like at their Kyoto branch. This hotel also doesn't have an amenity rack (aside from the one inside the sento) where you can just grab a cotton swab or toothbrush on your way to your room, like at a "regular" Dormy Inn. Everything has to be claimed at the front desk, which takes more time.
This is the 2nd time we stayed at an Onyado Nono. Just like before, we loved the coffee machine, which served hot cocoa and matcha latte as well. And, of course, there was the sento, which is always a highlight whenever we stay at one of the hotels under Dormy Inn's umbrella.

United KingdomI paid for breakfast, came downstairs to find no coffee and no eggs. Wondered why they didn’t tell me at reception when I paid that morning that they had run out of fairly standard breakfast options. Staff are so obsessed with you not walking on reception with your shoes on or with your suitcase, but really helpful or welcoming in any way. Surprised the price of this hotel, the standard of breakfast was low, the room was really compact and badly set out also very claustrophobic as the window wouldn’t open and it’s facing a wall.
Room had amenities needed, although fairly compact
