Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThe vintage room was small, the bed a bit rough, and the sound from the other rooms was quite loud. I didn't sleep well here, but I also loved the hosts and would return simply for them!
The staff and folks at the Cafe were an absolute delight. The food they made and the company they kept were freaking wonderful.

FranceNo one to talk with. Didn’t see the owner, lots of contrasts with the warm full place.
Lots of effort in the decorations. And that’s beautiful. Look really charming.

United KingdomWalls were very thin, and the people next door were very loud. I think it's overpriced considering the communal facilities, and the fairly basic standard of the accommodation.

United KingdomThe house was a bit cold but not all the rooms were occupied so I can understand that there was no need to heat up the whole house. We had a heater in our room :)
The room was a very good size, directions were also very clear, everything was within walking distance

JapanSuper close to the station yet hidden inside a quiet residence area. A "feel like home" experience with nice host and friendly staff. The "Made by Tipy" travel guide was very helpful. The only minus point was that there's only one bathroom in the first floor.

SingaporeThe Economy Triple is located at the 2nd floor with a steep stairway, which may not be convenient for elderlies or children.
The location was convenient and the owners had retro taste, which was different from the usual hotel accommodations.

United StatesMaybe just me, but I was a little confused upon check in. I didn't realize that each room had a "name" and that it was listed somewhere in my reservation. So I tried every lock box until I found my room. Kind of like an escape room, made for a good story though.
Didn't realize it was a house, similar to an air bnb which was a nice surprise. I loved the atmosphere of it, and was up early every morning to get my shower out of the way and not compete with other guests. There's a kitchen and laundry facilities to use if needed. Very convient to the train station and not hear the rails. Also located right behind a popular street of restaurants and bars, without getting the noise. Natural and Retro rooms are downstairs. Vintage and Tatami rooms are upstairs.

MalaysiaThis is a small house and has no support service like in a hotel. There are four rooms in the house (2 on the grd floor and two on the upper floor) and the bathrooms and toilets are shared. The kitchen is well equipped though. While we are aware of this, we were rather disappointed with the quality of the room. We had the "Tatami" room with Futon Beds on the upper floor accessible via a very steep and narrow staircase which would be quite risky for elderly people. Not sure whether it was meant a a novelty for first timer using a futon bed in a tatami room, but upon arrival (and tired) we still had to "assemble" the futon bed from a graphic instruction given on the wall. Had to take out the base mattress, cover and sheets from the wardrobe and took us sometime to figure out why there is a big oval hole in the cover for the futon (google it to find out). The futon spread and cover were quite worn and thin already. There are no chairs or writing table in the room, and our "beds" are on the floor so we ended up "crawling" (literally) for most of our movement within the room with our tired legs after a long day. This hotel is not meant for guests who want some privacy, comfort and facilities of a proper hotel but it is an alternative if you wish to stay near Odawara Station. The host is however friendly and welcomed us.
The only strong feature is its location very near to the Odawara Station, which is a Shinkansen stop when from Tokyo and to Osaka. It is also the launch point to Hakone. You can start the Hakone Day Pass at this point.

Everything! Super clean, super cosy, and very comfortable. Me and my friend loved the bathroom and kitchen, especially the beautiful cups and teapots that are free to use by guests. We were also invited to eat a watermelon upon arrival, and who can say no to a tasty, local grown watermelon? Fantastic!

Indonesiaother than location. the toilet is broken. only one toilet that is working properly. only one bathroom available at the property, despite the place was fully booked, not only that we had to share that one toilet and one bathroom we other guests (which I did not mind at all), we had to share with the (they claim) as the owner, who is not living in that property. worse than air bnb, even air bnb has separate toilet and bathroom for the guest. to top it off the self-acclaimed owner, took the shower very long time which me and my young kid had to wait her for more than 30 mins. after shes done instead of sharing sorry or thank yoh for waiting, she side eyed me and my kid and closed the front really hard eventhough they said to us it was quiet time (past 12 am in the morning). after that the owners kept sending uncomfortable messages.
