Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Modern, comfortable, great location, staff were excellent, fast wifi, took one of the free bikes to check out Hida Folk Village (beware: it's up a pretty steep hill).

No shower cap provided,so not really any problems.
Location and helpful friendly staff. Room was a reasonable size and had everything we required. Loved the ability to open the window.. The free tea and coffee was very welcoming

Everything was OK
The hotel is perfectly situated halfway between the railway station and the old town, just a few minutes' walk away. The staff is friendly, the breakfast is satisfactory, and they offer free coffee and tea all day long.

Poor WiFi. My phone worked okay but my laptop did not, simply noting the WiFi was an old version, not very secure and slow. It was worse than slow.
Location, lovely room, excellent breakfast, great staff, quiet, comfortable and good value for money.

There was no safety deposit box in the room
Large spacious room, clean and comfortable. The hotel has a WMF coffee machine that makes proper espresso (hard to find in Japan). We used the underground parking, it was okay.

I adored my stay at this hotel! The rooms were spacious and modern, offering a cozy haven. Being just 2 minutes from the station made exploring a breeze. Takayama is stunning, and the hotel's proximity to attractions was a huge bonus. The staff was warm and friendly, and I loved the cute outdoor smoking area with comfy benches. Highly recommended!

Breakfast was booked out everyday so we had to walk the streets looking for a coffee. I was surprised, that as paying guests, breakfast was not available to us. Spa area was not as new or clean as other places we have stayed in.
Proximity to station, use of bicycles and larger room than normal with a window you could open. Easy walk to restaurants. Comfortable bed. Good housekeeping service.

It was odd that the hotel couldn't cater breakfast for all their guests. The town want the best place to get breakfast so it was disappointing that you couldn't get that in the hotel.
Very spacious rooms for Japan. The bathroom was really good, you didn't need to jump down a step.

Would have been nice to be able to use the coffee machine in the mornings too rather than after 1pm, but I guess the hotel only has 1 machine.

This is so far the biggest and fanciest accommodation during our trip and will not break the bank. The price is so low for its size. Biggest we had. The beds and bathroom are big and not the usual hotels.

Not much facilities, we just stayed in our room after finish the day.
Staff is really friendly, the location close to the station is perfect for day trips and the hotel is also close to the old town
