Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Hong KongThe location is a bit far, 10 stations from the downtown, then it takes a 15min uphill walking from the station. Don't know why the payment is not made in advance automatically just like other hostels, and i have to pay onsite, which makes the checkin process a bit longer. The bed is really small, there is no space to hang the clothes or to place the backpack on the upper bed. The privacy of upper bed is not good either, i can see the other upper bed from my bed.
the checkin time is 6-10pm, very friendly for people arriving late.

TaiwanThe other guests kept moving around and making a lot of noise which put me hard to sleep. And the check in time and check out time is too limited, and couldnt allow guest to deposit their lauggage or bags since there is no staff.
I like the shower room. It has all the things needed and it is very clean. Also I love the wide public space for all the people could spend their time, but the TV is too small and only at 1 small corner and you have to sit on the floor to watch it.

CanadaWe had some difficulty with communicating with the staff. Our flight did not get into Nagoya until 9:30 PM and we arrived outside the check-in time. Check-in was 6pm-10pm and we sent messages around 6p. I did not receive a response until just before 10p, so there was some confusion over whether we would be able to access the hostel. When we arrived, instructions had been provided on where the rooms were and which beds were ours. There was nothing about bath towels. If towels were available, information about renting and where to find them was missing. If you are arriving late, make sure to contact the staff as soon as possible. We understand this confusion was also due to the lateness of our arrival and we should have contacted the staff earlier.
The hostel and facilities are excellent. The rooms are spacious with good bathroom and shower facilities. There are additional showers available via the common area. The common area was very large and had a full kitchen. There was also a TV and shelves with books/magazines. Each dorm bed had a light and an outlet. That was handy. The location is in a quiet neighbourhood and is about a 15 minutes walk from Issha station.

JapanDorms can be noisy, put on and take off your own sheets, no meaningful security - relies on this being Japan, a bit out of the way, didn't see any staff
Tidy and efficient, excellent value for money, good location for going to Ghibli Park (but get advance tickets!)

Hong KongTatami room was a good size for a party of 4 but there was an “emergency exit” light which was on during the night so the room was greenish 😓. The common kitchen was good except for the mini oven which was dirty. Enough fridge space to store food. Overall we liked the place.

IndiaIt was quite far (15 min walk) from the railway station especially if you have luggage to roll and take with you. The mattresses were a bit uncomfortable to sleep on. We have slept on many floor mattresses in our life being from India but was expecting them to be slightly more thicker.

United StatesThe emails were in japanese, but that was an easy fix and probably an unfair expectation in my part. However the late check in(6pm) is tough, especially since there’s no one there at all if you’re early so you’re stuck outside. Still had a nice stay though
Staff was wonderful, it’s a nice property and the beds felt clean. Instructions were very clear(at check in) and the shared space was big enough to be comfortable to lounge

MalaysiaQuite a distance from Nagoya central. Traffic is very heavy getting into town. Lack of restaurants within walking distance. Limited utensils in kitchen.
Love the concept that it’s run and managed by students from the learning house. The building is actually a hostel but they allocated 1 floor for short term rental. Rental fee helps to reduce living costs for students. Spacious room (4 of us in a room meant for 6) with attached bath and toilet (separated). Big kitchen / common area in case you wish to break away from your group.

SlovakiaThe futons were a bit unconfortable for travellers from overseas, the emergency light is too bright in the dark. The facility is located in residential area, approximatelly 1 km from the subway station.
Accomodation is driven by friendly young people, and the facility is operating as a hostel. The room was big enough for five people. An excellent price - value ratio.

United StatesVery bad layout of the female dorm, my bed was right next to the bathroom and the light would wake me up every time someone used it 😢 They should warn you before giving you that bed and offer a face mask to block the light. Or make it light proof like most capsule hostels. Also they need to tell guests to be quiet after 10pm - some rude guests were stomping feet at 11.30pm!! Tiny hard pillow so wearing earplugs was uncomfortable. Avoid this place if you want sleep. I picked it because it was closer to the Park but I lost 2h of sleep so it wasn't even worth it...

RomaniaThe only downside are the beds, cause there’s not much room inside, and the upper bunk is very close to the ceiling, they’re also shabby and squeaky. I’m giving this a low rating cause there was a group of 4 Japanese mfs who arrived at 1AM and till 4AM they kept making mad noise inside the room, even though I and another guest told them to shut up. One of them was walking naked around the room, took shower with the door open, left underwear on the ground and the hairdryer plugged inside the sink (very dangerous because you could literally die if you turned on the water) After I told them to be quiet one of them was looking inside my bunk over the top (since it’s not fully private) The reception is closed at night so we couldn’t do anything but bear the noise they were making (talking very loud, playing videos etc until morning) Maybe it would be a good idea to have a 24/7 reception for situations like those. Worst experience in Japan so far.
So the hostel is very good and clean. Girl at reception was very friendly.

GermanyQuite expensive, is far away from everything, no convenience stores in a 1km radius. Had to make my own bed, the bunk beds are entirely made from wood, so try to get a top bed as they make a lot of noise!! Mattress was very thin, no shelf or anything at the bed. Everything cost extra, even baggage storage.
Very clean place, staff didn't speak a single word in English but tried very hard and was very friendly Bathrooms were in very good condition!
