I wish there was heating on the corridors, so it wasn't that cold when you walk from the kitchen/bathroom to the bedroom.

The room was very spacious, and the hosts were very welcoming, giving us gifts to fold origami with. The faculties were all new, and the overall house was very beautiful.

A little loud outside until the restaurant next door closes, but they thought to provide earplugs for that... Honestly the only downside to an otherwise perfect experience.

The host was incredibly helpful with our trip planning, both before booking and prior to our arrival. They were also highly responsive to all our questions throughout our stay. The place itself is gorgeous, and my experience there is unforgettable.

A little noise at night from neighborhood but didn't really bother us. And there were earplugs if needed.

It was very fun to stay in a traditional Japanese home. The owner is so nice. She helped us with reservations and made sure we had everything we needed.

Only negative for some people may be toilet and bath ground floor and sleeping upper floor.

Perfect location close to old Town, river and markets, yet not too far from station. Wonderful host. Beautiful restored Machiya with amazing attention to detail. Quiet area, yet not so quiet that you can talk freely in normal voice. Super comfy beds and top class tech.

Loved the location, comfort, balcony, and the fact that there was a parking spot. Though I never met the host in person, they were very quick to respond to questions and helped us with luggage forwarding to this location. I enjoyed my breakfast on the balcony and also watched a parade go by from up there.

The O2 tank took a huge amount of space, and thus it was tricky to find room for our 4 suitcases (because we weren't hauling them upstairs!)

The entirely traditional aspect of the property was fabulous:) The property was neat, tidy and had a beautiful interior.

Cosy and homely feel on the 1st floor. Having Netflix access was a big plus.

It’s just the nature of that style home, but the hallways were very cold, but we didn’t have to sit in them, so it was not a problem.

Quiet location with Free Parking, and easy walk to old town. Very comfortable beds and nice linens. Host was very accommodating and got back quickly to all my questions. Best house slippers yet!

There was nothing to dislike.

The whole apartment is perfect and very nice. The host arranged every small thing very carefully. Very beautiful home. Everything is picture-perfect. There is a small kitchen and fridge which you can use. There is an O2 box also which looked fascinating. However, as my stay was very short, so I didn't have time to use it. A very large bedroom is on the 2nd floor. It has 1 double bed and 2 single beds, perfect for a family trip.

It’s the tiniest thing but the corridors are not heated and get very cold in winter.

Much better than we ever expected. Recently renovated 2 floor house. Incredible space, with kotatsu, huge beds, very well equipped with tea sets, rice cooker, etc. The hosts were everything you’d hope for. Super friendly, and offered a number of small gifts. The value for money was among the best I’ve experienced. 100% stay here if it’s available.

The directions were not good enough, we spent 40 minutes trying to find it as we did not understand what we were looking for. It needs another photo or two for foreigners and more explicit instructions about where the door is, I.e.on ground floor, next to..., etc

Comfortable and clean. Beds were super comfortable. The oxygen chamber is awesome. 5-10 min walk to old town and tons of restaurants along the way.
