Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaI got the room in the dormitory which was the cheapest room. It was a private room but more like a capsule hotel room that you could stand up in. Not a lot of room, just a sleeping platform. The bed was not comfortable and hard. I didn't sleep well. I would recommend this ryokan but not the room I stayed in. I would get a larger room which will probably cost more but make for a more enjoyable stay. It is hard to find places to eat at super time if you don't have meals at your ryokan, there are no convivence stores nearby. I was only able to find a crepe truck which was alright.
This was a nice ryokan. Probably not as expensive as the others nearby but you still get the onsen/ryokan experience. Probably the cheapest hotel I stayed in during my time in Japan. The staff was helpful. I enjoyed the hot springs bath. The Japanese breakfast was very good.

JapanThe location is a little inconvenient for sightseeing, since the nearest station is some ways away from the inn.
The staff were really friendly and helpful, especially considering the multiple issues caused by me having a badly planned schedule.

JapanThis place isn't tattoo friendly, so I couldn't use the public bath. This should be made clear when you book, because there are no private baths for you to use instead.
The rooms were nice and clean, and the staff were very nice.

United StatesYou had to put out the futon yourself but that was not a huge deal.
Amazing. There was free shuttle to the nearest JR station. We didn't book the shuttle beforehand but we were able to take it anyway. The breakfast was amazing and the location is very good. Very close to the bus stop which we had to take because JR operations were suspended due to heavy rain. Value was so good.

TaiwanThe following comments are only for kasuien minami: The toilet in the room needs to be improved, it is a bit too small for a hotel at this price
The following comments are only for kasuien minami: The reception of this hotel is amazing. After arriving at the hotel from the shuttle bus, someone guided me to the place where the snacks were prepared and sat down. The cold and refreshing snacks and warm tea are very delicious , after the receptionist took my passport to complete the check-in procedure, he took me around the entire first floor, introduced the location of each facility, and took a bathrobe by the way (there are many colors and sizes to choose from). The room is relatively large for a single room, and there are two or three types of tea bags and refreshments in the room. Drinking water and pre-chilled cups are provided in the refrigerator, and the service is very attentive. The temperature and water quality of the large public bath and foot bath are very good

United StatesI was ripped off. I paid 4,000 yen for a simple room and was given a closet instead. When I confronted the staff with the type of room, as demonstrated by their own advertisment at the entry to the hotel (see photo below) they mumbled something about the fact that they were giving me breakfast to compensate for the crappy room I got. When I stated I was not in agreement, all of a sudden the young man forgot all his English. Booking.com should blackball this hotel.
