Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SingaporeNone!
The best hospitality I have ever come across. The staff there were extremely helpful and always willing to go out of their way just to fulfil your needs, be it dropping you off at the bus stop or reserving dinner for you. It was a very wholesome stay and I met some really nice people there!

JapanWe liked everything.
Raicho Onsen Inn is amazing. I will come back if I can for sure. The staff is lovely. The private onsens are amazing. We went on a snowshoe tour and it was seriously the best thing we have done in Japan. There is a communal kitchen, which was really great, and spaces to relax and work. I wish we could have stayed longer!

SingaporeEverything was perfect in Raicho Inn. We only note that in the Norikura and Kamikochi area, having a car seems to be the most convenient mode of transport to explore around the area.
The staff were really warm and welcoming who helped us with questions for our hike, and offered us recommendations for a great coffee place in Takayama. The public sharing areas were well kept and clean, and the kitchen amenities were complete for those who want to cook their own meals.

United StatesSome of the private rooms have a weird slightly moldy smell which was a bit unpleasant but didn't affect how much we enjoyed our stay at this inn. Since there are no supermarkets in this area, I think it would be great if they sold protein snacks or drinks since a lot of people to this area to do intensive outdoor activities and finding protein as a vegetarian here is rough.
Raicho Onsen Inn was our absolute favorite place to stay out of our 2 weeks traveling Japan. It had a friendly and open atmosphere - a great place to meet japanese and international travelers alike. It's a 5 minute walk to the Norikura Tourist Center which is a great place to rent e-bikes to explore the area (we biked Mt.Norikura along the Norikura Echo Line which begins at the tourist center), or grab a drink at their cafe. They also have an onigiri machine, but they run out pretty quickly. There's a yummy restaurant located inside an onsen which is right across the tourist center. There aren't too many walkable options for food, especially if you're a vegetarian, but Raicho Onsen Inn does a beautiful job of letting you know exactly what your options are with a collection of restaurants on their bulletin board. They even have a wonderfully designed large kitchen with inexpensive basic food items available for purchase such as pasta, tuna, canned corn, instant curries, some fresh veggies, etc. You can also purchase breakfast from them which is a bagel with different filling choices. Their computer lounge area is a great place to relax and hang out. We especially enjoyed the onsens, both indoor and outdoor, which are booked privately through a schedule on the wall. The inn is located next to many beautiful hiking trails and waterfalls (the entrance for one was literally 2 minute walk away!) We were only planning on staying 1 night, but my partner and I ended up staying for 3 nights.

FranceOur stay at Raicho was amazing! The receptionist was absolutely lovely and very helpful. The place is beautiful, always tidy, we loved the outside onsen and the fire place as well as the cozy bed. We didn't have a car, there are only a few busses per day, but going around is totally doable with a bit of organisation. And anyways there are many beautiful hikes starting from Raicho. Thank you so much for the stay!

MalaysiaThe toilet seat should have sanitizer like those found in shopping mall toilet so can keep hygiene as I need use my own alcohol swipe to clean it before use. The onzen facility should have include into the stay price.
The vibe of the stay is homie and feel like school holiday hostel you watched in anime. Spacious public space in front of the fire place and kitchen is a bonus so would not feel cramp together with others. Would like take the opportunity to Yuta-san for taking extra miles to fetch us when we stranded 9km away from the stay in the super cold night. Besides that, borrow us ski jacket for free since we under-dressed.

PolandIt's simply a great spot if you like outdoor recreation. Good beds, 3 private onsens that you can reserve every day, kitchen with everything you need and plenty of space for working, reading, chilling, and socializing. Hard to imagine a better base for enjoying the surrounding mountains.

FinlandThe beds in the dormitory were thin futons. For me as a westerner they were very uncomfortable and each night I had hip pain and my limbs got numb. However, that might not be the case for everyone. Otherwise the issues I had were not related to the guest house's actions itself: furthermost the place is very remote. Many of the local services accept cash only, and there are no ATMs nearby.. Google Maps shows an ATM nearby, but apparently it does not accept foreign cards. I ran out of cash, even though I thought I had plenty. Better bring "too much cash", not only "enough cash". Furthermore, while there is public transit available (bus), it does not drive very often. You really need to schedule your trips around the shifts, and be very careful not to get stranded on a station. Also, the bus from Norikura to Sawando Bus Terminal does not accept credit cards..? The first time I tried to ride it, they wanted cash payment upfront. The second time they were okay with me paying at Sawando station with a credit card.. Very confusing. Also there are no grocery stores nearby, so bring the extra stuff you want with you. There is a small store at Sawando Bus Terminal, but they have only very basic stuff for sale.
This guest house is one of the best I have been in. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the building is cozy and idyllic, and the nature around it is wonderful. The dorm pods were spacious and the communal areas were well thought out. There are awesome hiking trails that start right next to the guest house; I completely recommend taking those routes! The (almost) free onsen is a huge plus and I used it often (there are three onsens available, two inside and one outdoors). The onsen does smell like sulfur, but that is what you get with real, genuine hot springs. You can reach Kamikochi pretty well from this guest house with public transit. They have a small 'store' inside the guest house where you can buy basic items, for example instant food, basic amenities, drinks, souvenirs, and so on. The area around the guest house is very quiet and you can see the mountain peaks from the nearby information center. The star sky is quite something to behold.

SingaporeMany restaurants around the area closed quite early (4-5pm), plus when we went around November, the days were short and it turned dark quickly at 5pm. Thus we had some difficulties looking for food. There is an option to cook some instant meals available for purchase at the guesthouse.
Place was extremely clean and well-equipped. There were many common areas to dine and to rest, and the overall environment was very warm and relaxing. The onsen were also private thus you don’t have to be concerned if you’re not comfortable sharing it with strangers. Really highly highly recommend for a rejuvenating time and to connect with nature!

Everything. Such an amazing place to stay. Rooms are beautiful and comfortable and staff are so so helpful - they recommended us hikes and helped with everything we needed. All the shared spaces are fantastic. The fires were always going and there were food and drinks available to purchase. The onsens are a highlight - we had such a beautiful time relaxing at Raicho inn. Couldn’t recommend coming here enough as a way to get out of the city and into nature. We will definitely be back.

PhilippinesOptions for food are limited in the area and they all close quite early.
Lovely atmosphere of a mountain lodge in the middle of the Japanese Alps. The shared areas are spacious and the wood stoves add to the cozy feeling. I had a 'capsule' in a 4 beds room and it was comfortable. The 3 onsen (baths) are nice, I loved the outdoor one the most. It's private so you can book a few 30 min slots though the day and enjoy bathing on your own or with you partner/friends.
