Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThere’s no sound proofing in the building. And we were just unlucky to have some inconsiderate guests around our room that being so loud after midnight.
The location was pretty good. Close to stations and shops. I love the recommendations wall that full of information about Sapporo and around. Staff were friendly.

AustraliaThe initial impressions weren’t good. There’s so many negative signs about fines and fees that you don’t enter feeling excited to visit. The shared whatsapp grouo seems to be dead, even though its a good idea. Perhaps encourage events and competitions every other night just to get people to hang out in the shared space.
The bunk beds aren’t bunks, but have stairs to get to the top. It’s like a cross between a capsule and a hostel. They have a great notice board with all the major tips for locations, recommended food places and that makes visiting Sapporo so much easier. The two evening shift workers are really friendly and chill, they really want to build up a community where people can make friends and meet other guests in the shared living spaces.

GermanyLuggage storage is not secured and on own risk. A camera there would solve this problem.

MalaysiaThe bedrooms are a little bit dark but this was not a big issue for us, and the room could do with more hanger space for your towels/coats/jackets (especially in winter!).
Located in the heart of Susukino, just about 10 mins from the actual center. The staff were all nice and friendly, thank you to Sota, the young lady wearing glasses and the man with the short shaved hairstyle for your help! We booked the twin room with ensuite shower-the room itself is cosy and the beds were very warm and comfy, we especially loved the clean shower that had hot water, shampoo, conditioner and body soap (they smelled so nice!). As it's a hostel, the toilets are located outside of the room which takes some getting used to but otherwise it was fine. The common area with pantry was cosy as well, they provide tea and coffee bags! I liked their cute posters on the wall describing all of the neat things to do/eat in Sapporo/Hokkaido.

MacauIt is a bit far from Susukino Station and Central area with a 10 minute walk.
I like how the beds were so comfy even I need to make my bed by myself on my arrival. The rooms are quiet as you can sleep comfortably. You can reheat your bento or cook a food in your own at their lounge

JapanMy room was kinda stinky. I am not sure if it was just the other guests or if ventilation is bad.
Best price I found for the winter festival. Location is really good and central. Staff helped me out a lot.

United KingdomA toilet and a kettle in the room would have been most ideal, but also totally fine using the shared ones. Also nowhere to hang wet towels- very minor things.
Handy location, a lot of privacy in private despite being a hostel. Lovely staff.

JapanVery convenient location - about 5 minute walk to susukino street. Convenience store right by the hostel. My bed and room were clean and quiet, facilities were clean and easy to use. Had a lock box by your bed to store small valuables. Hostel has a full kitchen and large space to chat or eat.

PhilippinesThe shared toilets were seemingly left uncleaned for days. Someone should probably schedule a clean on them everyday.
It was the winter festival that time. The location was very close to the suskino ice sculptures. The shared bathrooms also were nice.

ColombiaSome of the kitchen devices were a bit dirty and could use more cleaning, but I guess the guests are also to blame on that.
Great location and nice installations. The capsule-style beds were quite comfortable and offered some privacy as well.

JapanI wish there was an area where you could change clothes as it’s a little inconvenient going all the way to the toilets or shower rooms where there once again isn’t any room to change. If you’re unlucky like me your rooms also gonna smell like feet due to the inappropriately placed shoe boxes inside the bed frame itself which most people don’t even use and just put their shows right in front of the beds. Some sort of a better ventilation system would be great but hey, can’t have it all.
The place has a super convenient location a short walk away from a subway station. There’s a little smoking area downstairs by the entrance if you’re in need of that and the check-in and check out process is overall very simple and quick. The beds are also surprisingly comfortable and you have a little sink in the room to brush your teeth, wash your face and fill up your water bottle. I like that the sleeping nooks also have a security box you can lock your valuables into.

United StatesI was expecting it to be more of a social hostel, but people mostly kept to themselves. (Which could be good or bad depending on what you’re looking for).

SingaporeThe floor was a bit dusty when I arrived. On the floor level I stayed, there was only one shower room for men, serving about 8-10 rooms. Although I didn’t experience the queue, I can imagine it could get quite busy during peak hours.
This was one of the largest rooms I stayed in during my vacation in Japan. The bed was comfortable, and the room included a good-sized table, chair, and minibar. You also have an ample floor space to pack your luggage. The lounge area on the second floor lobby was clean and well-organized. Right across the street, there’s a convenience store for all your needs, including late-night cravings. Lastly, their staff are very attentive to your needs.

JapanThere was really nothing worth mentioning. However please understand this is a non smoking property (a bonus to me) however someone did smoke and set off the fire alarm at 7 in the morning which meant we all had to evacuate to the snowy streets (February in Sapporo) and wait. The fire brigade arrived, in 9 fire engines, and searched the building thoroughly before declaring it safe. Please don't be that person who thinks they can smoke there.
The hostel is relatively new and is well thought out. The beds in the dormitory room were solid and comfortable. There is a small locker in each bed space for your item. I could fit my small backpack in there. No padlock is required as a key and lock is provided. Showers were good and had enough dry space for changing and dressing something that is often overlooked in a hostel. I did not use the kitchen space but it seemed adequate.
