Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BelgiumA little far from the metro and train stations.
The room is big enough for two, and enough space to open my big suitcase. The desk is also long enough for two. The toilets and bathrooms are not far from the room. There are some restaurants and supermarkets nearby.

JapanHowever this hotel was not eco friendly enough to stay. For example,a lot of heaters were turned on even though no one used it.

JapanThis is a very small thing, but it didn’t have a personal touch at all. There were new rotating staff every day, and it felt like they were just doing their job. Friendly enough, but not the same as a smaller personal hostel. For example, when I asked for recommendations, a staff member just said “oh you can see them over there”.
Clean, comfortable, rooms and a nice lounge space with some free tea and coffee. Everything worked well, facilities were good. Recommendations for restaurants and cafes posted on a notice board and several booklets.

Indonesia- All's good! small issue is the room was too dark (the lamp inside the cubicle was too dim) i tripped couple of times when i tried to climb down/up from my bed on lights out times
- the capsule bed was bigger than most capsule hotels i've ever stayed at - shared facilities - location is close to Sapporo station (you can walk if you want) - clean! - I got more than what i paid! Definitely will return here for my next Sapporo trip! Thanks Owl Hostel!

Nice spacious lounge, female dormitory was comfortable, place overall was clean. Staff helpful and friendly. You can store luggage before check-in and after check-out. Kitchen small and functional. Good supermarket just around the corner. Useful iron for clothes. Did not use the washer/dryer facilities.

Location is excellent. Really easy to get into Susukino and the main downtown zones. Clean and well kept, modern amenities. Large lounge which is great to relax in. Staff are some of the most helpful I’ve met in Japan.

Everything was really clean and modern, the rooms, the showers, the toilets and also the lobby. The rooms were also amazing, a nice bed with a lot of room and with nice darkening curtains. The location is the best! Just on the outside of busy susukino. Also outside of the hostel is a tramstation, its like 2 minutes away. As last the workers where amazing, they really like to chat and meet new people. If you have a question they are ready to help and just really friendly.

United KingdomSomeone was snoring very loudly on the bed right next to mine. I could still hear them snore with ear plugs on. I would have appreciated better separators or thicker walls.
Clean, hip, young and nice common area. This id my second wise owl hostel in Japan.

AustraliaThe only thing that it could have would be a place to lock your luggage during the day, it had a small safe box but one to put your main bag/ suitcase in would make the whole stay perfect.
This is a great value for money place to stay and calling it a hostel is a stretch it is more like a nice hotel. with a dorm room setup. Everything was super clean and the main living area was great with a table tennis table even.

JapanIt's a hostel, so unfortunately the experience depends a lot on who you share a room with. I had some difficulty sleeping due to other guests talking / rummaging through luggage at 2 or 3am, as well as a smelly bunk mate. But that's all to be expected when sharing a room.
Very nice common area for cooking / working / relaxing. The staff were friendly and helpful. Convenient enough access to central areas and train stations. Beds felt very private. The rooms and showers are kept very clean. Doors to the room are protected by keycard access, and additionally there is a small wooden lock box by each bed. Laundry machines are available!

JapanNot the most comfortable capsule bed I’ve stayed in. The number of showers and toilets etc. seems low for the number of beds on each floor (but it was ok at the times i used it)
Instantly made friends with everyone while I was waiting to check in. The staff are the friendliest I’ve ever met.

JapanThe only issue I had with this hostel is the laundry facilities. there were only two washing machines and two dryers, one of each in the ladies bathroom and the men’s bathroom. Because of this, we spent a lot of time waiting for people to finish washing and drying so we could have our turn. Also, it was very expensive. One wash was ¥300, and a dry was ¥100. However, the dryers were really bad so we had to use them several times. Because of this, one load cost ¥900 in total.
Everything was awesome.
