Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

MalaysiaPerhaps some hooks to hang clothes in the shower room as it's none in the room we stayed in.
Very nice stay. Easy access to many different places. I liked the room design too. Common area is cozy. Helpful staff.

JapanNot the hostel's fault, but a few guests leave a mess or ignore the signs in the kitchen to put away the dishes and refill the kettle. Please use common spaces respectfully.
We stayed at Wise Owl Hostel in Sapporo for 4 nights in December 2024, in a private two-single-beds room. Check-in is 16:00-0:00 but you can check in early (before 16:00) or late (after 0:00) for a 1000円 fee. Upon checking in, you can choose two free items from a list (e.g. razor, body sponge). The room was spacious and comfortable, with a desk, chair, coat hanger, mini-fridge, bedside table, sink with hand soap, tissues, lamp, mirror, and bath/face towels. You must bring your key card with you, it is a 1000円 fee if you get locked out. The showers/toilets were shared, and I wish I had thought to bring slippers so that I didn’t have to put on my shoes every time I left the room. The showers provided shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and hairdryers. The common spaces on the 2nd floor are comfortable and spacious. The kitchen has a large shared fridge, stove, microwave/oven, toaster oven, kettle, rice cooker, cutlery, glasses, mugs, plates, bowls, paper towels, dish soap, cutting boards, knives, pots and pans, free instant coffee, sugar, filtered water, and black tea. There are many tables, chairs, a couch, a TV, a Switch, and a ping-pong table. The hostel also has a bar with many drinks for 500円, or all-you-can-drink for 2200円-- but watch out, if you vomit in the sinks you will be charged 30000円. The location is great, too. There is a 24-hour convenience store across the road, and an affordable 24-hour supermarket, Dinner Bell, on the same street block. It’s close to many restaurants. It’s a 5-minute walk from the entertainment/restaurant district Susukino, and a 20-minute walk from Odori Park. It’s well-placed for taking the tram or bus as well.

United KingdomI don’t know if a regular occurrence but it was extremely noisy at night. We were by other guests at 12.20am who proceeded to scream and shout for the next couple of hours making sleep impossible. It could be a party place where people stay but I haven’t experienced this level of disturbance and noise in other hostels and it would not usually be permitted.
The room was clean and had a good bathroom but no kettle in the room

JapanI couldn’t sleep well because the floors and walls are so thin, I could hear people stomping and talking.
Even though it’s a hostel, they have a private room with double bed and the room was quite spacious.

I like that it’s conveniently located to many convenience and grocery stores. Their facilities are fantastic and consumables like tissue/soaps are replenished all the time. Their instructions are also clear making it so easy for us to follow. Indeed a perfect spot for solo travelers! Ps. I am a female and I really felt safe staying here.

GermanyThe staff can be a bit more friendly imo. I have nothing to complain about.
I enjoyed my stay here. The faculty is newly renovated. The location is also good. It's just a few minutes walk to Susukino, Odori and main train station. The whole facility is clean and well taken care of. I will definitely come back to this place.

United Statessuper nice staff, very comfortable beds with curtains and walls, light and outlets at each bed, clean, steps to get to the upper bunk; small but sufficient lockers for money and laptop; great location near a supermarket, (food discounts after 7 or 8 pm), liquor/beer store and convenience stores; also near the airport bus stop, and town center. Next to a tram stop. free coffee, or black tea; big sunny lounge and kitchen. free luggage storage. big fridge for food storage. Filtered water so we can save on plastic and money. I was really happy there and will return.

Papua New GuineaThe floor I was staying had its washer dryer removed. The other main issue they wear not considerate of people who are big and can not feet small walkways to the top bunk. Please be considerate when giving rooms.

FranceThe hostel is super well-located. I could walk to go everywhere I wanted. The room is quite big. We have a large space to store our luggages. The bed comes with a locker. The common room is also quite big. There are chill musics in the evening which makes it comfortable. The kitchen has many ustensils which makes it perfect for cooking. There were enough showers, I have never waited. The staff was so nice. They helped me when I had a problem.
