Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ItalyWhile the hotel is close to the train station, I expected it to be closer to Nara Park. The room was very small, even by Japanese standards, and I couldn’t even fully open a backpack on the floor. Additionally, the staff wasn’t Japanese, and while they were nice, you could tell there was a difference in the level of service, which wasn’t quite on par with the hospitality I’ve received at other hotels in Japan.
This hotel offered great value for money, staying true to the typical budget-friendly standards of Japanese hotels in this category. The shower was excellent, and the free public bath is a unique touch for those who enjoy the experience of bathing in the company of strangers — a true Japanese tradition. The hotel also offered free luggage storage, which was convenient during my stay.

SingaporeThe room was smaller than expected though the basic facilities were available. 2 perso with big luggage’s may have problem packing.
The hotel is easy to locate and not too far from the train station. Place is clean and staff is helpful.

JapanEverything feels cramped. The hotel room is quite small for two people (not recommended for people with luggages). The toilet/bathroom seems to be made for people who are quite small in stature. The elevator can only fit three people max (and that is without luggages).
The staff were very nice and accomodating! The location is also very good as it is only approx. 5 minutes away from JR Nara.

AustraliaThe reception area can do with an extra lounge so that a large group staying in the hotel to gather and organise.
Just everything you can expect from a small business hotel. The location is boring but convenient, only 5 minutes walk from JR Nara station and 10 minutes walk from Kintetsu Nara station where there are plenty of shops and restaurants. The bus stop to Nara Park is only about 30 metres away making this hotel a good base to explore Nara from.

ItalyThe hotel is located within walking distance from both the train station and the Nara Park and there are plenty of restaurants in the area. Our room was lovely and clean, not bigger than other rooms we had in Japan but much better organized, so space wasn't a problem at all and we had a really comfortable stay. We had a nice view on the main street but it was quiet. We didn't use it but there was also a public bath for guests. The staff was helpful and spoke good english, they kindly kept our luggage for a few hours since we arrived earlier than check in time.

AustraliaRoom and bathroom was far too small for 2 people. No coffee making facility in the room as there was no room for a kettle even, nor a chair. Couldn't find a light switch to turn off the night light either

United KingdomThe rooms were small but for the price one could not complain. We stored our luggage underneath the beds. The rate is so reasonable that if someone needed more space and you were two people, it is cheap enough to pay for an extra room.
Very clean. Lovely linen and pillows. Lots of extra supplies ,toothbrush, hair shampoo etc. Location was perfect, close to two stations and plenty of bus routes. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomWisteria is a lovely hotel with really nice, lovely and respectful staff. Rooms are very comfy, so are the beds and everything inside. I love their Onsen bath, so relaxing. They have a vending machine if you feel thirsty at any time and there is a laundry and dryers machines that was very handy. I love it. It was close to all the main venues in Nara.

JapanThe mattress is on the firm side and can be considered hard. I did notice that this kind of mattress is almost at all the places I booked in Japan. Requesting extra pillows, cushion or duvet could help with those who are not used to this kind of mattress but it's not that bad for me.
I booked the 1-person room and I am a small individual with just a compact luggage and a day bag. The room was perfect for my size. Just the right space and I thought the room was well thought of, to save space and be functional. I really liked that there is a small bath tub, together in a room with a toilet. Special mention to the staff who accommodated me when I made a mistake on setting up the tablet for the TV even when it was already late.

Hotel is in a perfect location between JR station and kintetsu station. Walking distance to the main tourist locations and main hiking trails. The staff is very nice and the room was clean and comfortable. There’s a shared bath with hot springs free to use. Also a laundry room (very cheap).

JapanI can walk to the hotel from the Nara Station. And I also walked to the Nara Park, the temples and the shopping street. The bed is super comfortable. I love that there a big mirror in the room (so I can make up in the morning). The staff is polite and friendly, they even warm up my food for me.
