Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaIt was a very nice hotel. They didn't have many options for food as the restaurant was closed and the cafe served food for very limited hours. I woke up to hearing someone's room door bell being constantly pressed early in the morning. Not sure why the rooms have doorbells I have never seen that at any hotel before. Otherwise a very nice stay.

AustraliaIt’s a bit old and dilapidated, so I think it’s a bit overpriced. The rooms have been reformed but it’s still old underneath. The building on the outside is the most hideous thing I’ve ever seen haha, but that doesn’t really matter. That area of Maizuru feels pretty sad and a bit depressing (not the hotels fault of course).
The lobby and restaurant is pleasant, even though we didn’t eat at the restaurant. I can’t rate the bathhouse as I didn’t get to try it (the women’s times were a bit inconvenient for me).

SingaporeThere is nothing interesting near the hotel and not many restaurants.
Location right next to Nishi Maizuru station. Looks old but relatively clean. Thank goodness the restaurant in the hotel serves good food because there's not many food options nearby.

JapanWell it may not be a big deal but some hair sticks to the carpet.
It’s quite near the station and bus stop so it is convenient to go to tourist attractions. And the arrange of the room makes it wider in usage.

GreeceThe property could do with refurbishment and the room had a bit of a stale smell to it - however easily resolvable by keeping the window open.
The front desk staff were extremely helpful and the hotel is directly next to the station, making it very convenient.

SpainIt would be unkind to complain about anything. Breakfast not included.
My room on the 6th floor was large, luminous, comfy and had great views of the city. This business hotel is a little older and the bathroom less perfect than in most of the chain hotels, but there is nothing to complain about really. Lighting could be better but the reading lights by the beds are perfect. Windows open. Less than 100 meters from the JR station. Spacious lobby.

AustraliaIt was value for money, albeit a little tired Only one pillow is a pain, but common in Japan, it seems for a single booking
The hotel is exceptionally located so close to Nishi-Maizuru station and especially to see all the eceptional local sites( exceptional temple compound) the area has to offer. It was great value for money for a single traveller, and the onsen was an added bonus.

JapanThe rooms were old (there was chipped paint on the doors) and you could hear people in the hallway. The room was fairly clean, but there was some dust (on the toilet control panel and behind the toilet).
The hotel was located right outside Nishi Maizuru station. It was also close to a drug store and convenience store. Beds were comfortable and there was a large bath available. Staff were very quick with checking in and out. Kettle, fridge, pyjamas, and amenities were provided.

United StatesThis hotel is right next to the train station. The staff were very helpful in suggesting where to go for dinner. We paid $7 US for each breakfast added on when we registered. Our room was roomy & our beds were comfy. I went to the public bath (Onsen) to relax. They only have 1 Onsen with separate hours for men & women.
