Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaBeautiful place to stay, the room was stunning and the staff were lovely. The dinner was not something my husband and I would have again, but it was great to try. We ended up skipping breakfast and going to the convenience store next door. The bath in the room was really nice but very hot, and it looked out to the forest and was beautiful. The beds were thin so we got extra ones out of the cupboard and doubled them up. The walls were thin and we could hear people staying next to us talking, and their child screaming and thumping around.

FranceThe only thing I did not appreciate was having my room in a building separate from the main building. I feel safer knowing that the staff remains in the same building as I am. But otherwise my stay was comfortable. The staff was unquestionably efficient and exceptionally friendly.

United StatesBeautiful hotel with modern amenities but keeping a tradition Japanese feel to it, I really like the option of a public Onsen as well as your own private one inside your room, also the available meals are well worth it they serve you a large selection of Traditional Japanese foods, with all you can drink beverages at no additional cost.

Singaporeit would have been nice if the staff advising on our checkin had told us more of the cultural norms to take note especially during our meal given that it was our first traditional meal experience, otherwise it was a great experience! location is a little far from yumoto but accessible via bus
really liked the onsen, the general aesthetics of the place, some of the staff were also helpful

SingaporeThe rates are quite pricey as they charge per person, not per room so it was more worth it to get a room each if you're traveling with others, so everyone can get their own private onsen for the whole stay.
Despite the long bus ride (almost an hour) from train station to hotel, it was worth it. Loved all the Japanese elements in the room and especially enjoyed the private onsen. They will provide you with a yukata too. The onsen was smaller than expected but enough for 1 pax. Family Mart is just next door to the hotel and was our saviour as we couldn't get a seat at the nearby restaurants or in the hotel as they were fully booked. There's also a free flow drink machine at the lobby which was a bonus.

United KingdomThe location, would be easier if you have a car, but there is a bus stop not far from the hotel. So still fairly easy assess to solo traveler like me.
Love the private onsen in my own room, also the dinner and breakfast provided were delicious and big portions.

South KoreaThe room has no direct window and is quite dark. It is also very dry with the heater on.
Everything was perfect. The room was spacious, the private bath was really hot and relaxing. Breakfast and dinner were above average standard. We stayed 2 nights and the hotel was so kind enough to provide us different menu for the dinners, which we enjoyed both a lot. There was one server at the restaurant who spoke Korean really well and we appreciated her service. The public bath was standard. Location is great and you always have seats in buses.

AustraliaThe price is quite a bit and the location is not too close to anything for meals. The included breakfast was nice but there was no options for what you could have.
Private onsen was fantastic with enough space for a man over 6 feet tall and his partner. The room was spacious and I loved the aesthetic.

New ZealandNothing. This hotel exceeded our expectations and was great value for money.
We loved our stay at Susukinohara Ichinoyu. It's a beautiful hotel with well-appointed rooms, private in-room onsens as well as the large (gorgeous!) public onsens, and serves delicious meals. We would highly recommend staying here and hope to return.
