The hospitality was second to none, not in your face but still encouraging you to embrace the culture and experience with wearing a yakata. The private onsen was so special and a really perfect experience. Even the public onsen with outdoor bath was very clean and spacious, had it completely to myself in the morning which was so healing, an experience I will take with me and recommend to everyone I meet. The views were stunning from our room, exactly like the photos. This felt like a real authentic experience.

GOOD MEALS; EXCELLENT STAFF, ESPECIALLY I WAS MET ON ARRIVAL BY YOUNG MAN WHO SPEAK GOOD ENGLISH AND HELPED ME WITH MY LUGGAGE UP THE STAIRS. I FORGOT TO ASK HIS NAME BUT HE IS YOUNG HANDSOME ENERGETIC AND HELPFUL. THE STAFFS ARE GOOD AND HELPFUL. ALTHOUGH THE PREMISE IS HISTORIC IT IS CLEAN AND WELL MEAINTAINED. ITS AWAY FROM THE MAIN TOURIST AREA SO DRIVING THERE WITH OWN CAR PREFERABLE THOUGH THEY ALSO HAVE TRANSIT BUS TO POPULAR AREAS; THOUGH I AM NOT SURE OF THE FREQUENCY.

Rooms with outdoor onsen are well worth upgrading to. The hotel needs a little love but the rooms are in fantastic condition, the tatami is beautiful and the facilities are good. You get plenty of towels to enjoy the bath. We stayed on a clear december night and had the most phenomenal view of the stars. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The ryokan was an incredible experience that incorporated many traditional elements. Both breakfast and dinner were exceptional in terms of its size and taste. All staff spoke English which really helped the experience. We loved having our own private onsen which meant we could share the experience together ❤️

Nothing really

It had the feel of exactly what it is - a ryokan. The building is old, as one would expect, or at least, the part I was in. It had all the modern comforts. It gave feeling of stepping back in time. It was so much better than I expected. The food served up was traditional dishes which were delicious. I had an outdoor onsen on my balcony. The mineral waters were hot and soothing.

The display with the dolls were a little bit creepy, but interesting!

The experience of a traditional lodging was amazing. It was clean, neat and spacious. The meals were incredible. The staff was professional, helpful, and kind we love the location near Mount Fuji to take the tour and the cable car

Loved this ryokan, the wonderful staff, onsen facilities, and location opposite the beautiful Koriaen Gardens. The free shuttle service to Gora was very useful. I chose half board, and the food was amazing! I ate too much lol

I really suffered the fact that we had to have dinner at 5:30 in the afternoon.

The place has a really traditional feeling but is full of amenities and things to do related to the kind of structure that it is. I loved the yukata they gave us, it really made me feel immersed in the scenery. The private onsen, aswell as the communal one, are clean and really nice. I was surprised to find them always empty, not that I disliked it. The dinner was really nice, both the vegetarian and the Japanese one. The vegetarian one is really particular tho (and I felt it was almost vegan), so be prepared if you order it.

This was an absolutely fabulous place to spend our time in Hakone. We booked a private onsen room for me, my husband, and our two kids, and the space was gigantic. It was basically a one bedroom apartment. The included meals were delicious and high quality. The staff consistently went above and beyond to make our stay great. One example was when a staff member personally drove my family to the ropeway because the shuttle bus was too full for us to get on. I can't say enough good things about this location and we would stay there again.

I would say at dinner, staff kept assisting the other tables with larger size and would forget about me. I had to keep calling them to move on to the next course.

The only thing that was a little issue was that the ceilings were a little low. I'm a very tall person so I understand and am will to forgive this entirely.

Truly a beautiful location, incredible staff and facilities. the included meals were absolutely amazing, some of the best food I've ever had my entire life. I wish I could make up more good things to say about this place, that's how highly I'm praising this hotel.

The onsen water temperature was below our expectation. Its thermometer showed 40 degree celsius but we thought it might be lesser. There are flight of stairs from the carpark to hotel reception so you might need staff help on the heavy luggage.

We booked different type of rooms and they were all spacious. Staff were nice. The free flow of liquor for an hour was a nice surprise and we had good family bonding time.

We loved staying at the Villas. Private onsen 1 outside and 1 inside. Huge room for two of us. Quiet and welcoming. Enjoyed the traditional japanese breakfasts and dinners.

We had a short stay in a private villa, and we particularly appreciated: the beauty of the place, the relaxing atmosphere of villa, the exemplary cleanliness, the fiendlinesd and the helpfulness of the staff, the two private onsens (hot but not too hot), the dinner and the breakfast. In short, everything was perfect and I'd be delighted to come back.

Only one power point for charging plugs next to one of the beds. We stayed in the twin bed private villa.
