Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaAs mentioned in other reviews, there's no lift, so keep that in mind but it's not exactly a high-rise so it isn't too bad if you're able to do stairs. The check-in procedure is definitely one you want to complete in advance as it can take a long time (it's a standard procedure in Japanese hotels, but some places do it for you). Given the location in a nightlife area it can get noisy when the bars close, but it's otherwise nice a area! Rooms.dont seem to have blackout curtains so it got very light very early - pack a mask if it's a problem!
Well set up rooms that are great for families, and the cooking facilities were handy. Location is great, a couple of metro lines are nearby, it's a quick walk to Dotonbori and there's hundreds of bars and restaurants within blocks of the hotel. Lockers in the common area are very handy, as was the laundry facilities. Even though it's unmanned, it was no problem, the instructions are clear and when we needed help the staff were really responsive. We stayed twice in different rooms - one a Japanese style (one larger sleeping area) and the other a family room (with two separate bedrooms). For our needs (with two kids) the Japanese one was much better laid out - you can pack up the bedding and they had space to muck around on the tatami (which they were very into).

CanadaDecor was a little drab, but that's just a matter of taste. It's small, just large enough to fit the beds and a low table, but we would have enjoyed having a dining/meeting/working table with chairs instead of the coffee table and fifth bed. There were no drying hangers/pins for clothes, but there was a towel rack that we tried using instead. This is important because the laundry machines (2) in the common area were a combination washer/dryer in one tub, which meant that the clothes did not really get dry after the 2+ hr cycle.
There were four clean and comfortable beds for our family (hard to find rooms that can accommodate four people) plus a cot was set up that we did not use. Place is very close to the crazy Shinsaibashi area, but is not in a particularly crazy block. In the hallway/stairwell you can hear the activity in the other rooms but thankfully once you close your door there is almost no sound from the rest of the building.

SingaporeThere is no lift in this hotel. As we were staying at level 4, dragging the luggages up and down is a bit challenging. We booked two rooms, the toilet size for one of the rooms was really small but that was kind of common in Japan.
The location is great as it's just about 500m walking distance from the Shinsaibashi-Suji Shopping Street. The neighbourhood also has lots of eateries and convenience stores. There are coin lockers available at 100 yen for use after checking out if your flight is not so early. There are also washing machine and dryer available for use at no cost at the shared kitchen area.

Singaporeneed to climb stairs (not their fault and we knew that! just take note!). had problems with wrong code given at check-in via the automated system at the entrance and as it isn’t manned we went up and down the stairs quite a few times thinking we did something wrong. eventually called the number at the entrance phone and they gave us another code which worked (so it wasn’t anything we did wrong 😅)
nice location, great to have onsite laundry facilities and lockers for large bags. generally clean and toilet though tiny is well designed

New ZealandExperience wasn't great. Door pin was given to us incorrectly to start with, inside door handle then fell off (needs screw tightening) Room was extremely damp to the point of having puddles on the floor under the windows, street lights very bright shinning through curtains at night and very noisy street below made it hard to get any sleep. Not a great venue for families.
Nice and close to train station and restaurants. Room was tidy enough, would be a great location for young people wanting to experience night life.

CanadaBathroom was small and did not have space to store things. Wished there was a larger garbage can in the room but also no extra garbage bags given that they do not do daily cleans. While recognizing there is free laundry, other guests have left laundry in for hours as a result and a load of laundry takes hours to do for wash and dry. There was no laundry bags or eco bags as indicated on their signage.
Location was very central, only few minutes from metro station. Room was clean.
