It was difficult for us to find. We arrived at night and it was hard to find the sign for the inn. Maybe better lighting could help. It would be helpful to know where to park, too.

The inn was very clean. We liked that the two of us could use the onsen together. We had a nice view of the mountain from our room.

The location.The window offered Mount Yufu amazing view.The host picked us up and dropped us at the station ,very considerate and polite host.The stay offered onsen facility as well.Very clean and comfortable rooms .There is a kitchen downstairs as well.Even though we stayed a night it was lovely experience.Would definitely recommend.

Location was far from the station and there is not much in the surrounding area. But as mentioned our host picked us up and dropped us off. We went out for dinner after checking in and the surrounding area was pitch dark. Definitely would need flashlight and gps to know your way back.

Host was very nice. He picked us up and dropped us off at the station as the accommodation was quite far on foot. House was very clean. We had 2 rooms to ourselves and our own bathroom. The outdoor onsen was very nice. I really enjoyed it. Temperature was perfect. Very spacious as I had it all to myself.

Could be difficult to locate for first time visitors. Road leading to it was narrow being a 2-way. Need to drive to get to location.

Private tucked inside a very local neighbourhood. Quiet and peaceful. There’s a private onsen for guests use. Just book a time with Jin. Jin is friendly and super helpful.

Only downside is the location, if you don't have a car then it's a 20 minute walk from the station. But the host offers a free taxi service to get to the town in the beginning of the day.

Wonderful place at the mountainside of Yufuin, we got a free upgrade to the Yufuin Monday location just next to the Yufuin Sunday building. The highlight of the place is definitely the view incredible to wake up and look out over the mountains and town of Yufuin. The staff are also very nice, they even had time to chat about our trip, and help us with the facilities. Keep in mind my photos are from the Yufuin Monday location, just next to Yufuin Sunday.

The floor mattresses were a bit thin—so if you’re not used to traditional futons, it might feel less cushioned than expected. For me personally, it was not a huge issue as I got a good night's sleep. The location is bit far from Yufuin town centre but it is made up by Jin-san providing transport.

If you're looking for a warm and welcoming stay in Yufuin, this guest house is a true gem. Jin-san, the host, went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. He greeted us at Yufuin JR Station and kindly offered us a ride to the accommodation, setting the tone for a truly personal experience. Our family room was cozy and well-equipped, providing everything we needed. One of the highlights was the onsen, which can be reserved for private use, making it a relaxing and enjoyable retreat. Another big plus was that Jin-san offered to drop us off at the starting point for our early-morning Mount Yufu trek. This thoughtful gesture saved us from the hassle of arranging transport and let us start our day off on the right foot. The scenery around the guest house is breathtaking, adding to the peaceful atmosphere. And of course, we can’t forget Momo-chan, the charming resident cat, who added an extra touch of warmth to our stay. For anyone seeking a homey, relaxing experience with incredible hospitality in Yufuin, this guest house is a perfect choice.

The room had a slightly odd smell to it, nothing too bad but enough to notice.

Cozy, clean, friendly staff, private onsen, you can book for an hour per day. Would definitely stay here again.

Service was EXCELLENT. He picked us up from and drove us back to the station, helped with all our luggage, and prepared everything to make our stay as relaxing as possible. He also spoke good English to make communication very easy. A very kind and helpful host and a very comfortable hotel.

Nothing

The onsen was great my room was clean and everything was very comfortable. There's even Netflix but the star of the show is how kind the owner is. He was overly helpful I drove and the road up to the house is a little scary as an American its hard. He drove my car down for me and im forever thankful I didn't crash my rental car. Very comfy nice stay close to everything I recommend it There's also a cool shrine with giant trees nearby. I recommend it

The boss Jin is nice and friendly to treat us .And it’s nice to pick us up anytime during our stay.
