our room was next to the entrance and receptions, so we had a few moments when other guests were going out or coming back to the hotel and were loud, so they woke us up.

loved it, everything is very nice. location was perfect for our needs and the places we wanted to visit. the breakfast was very nice and also loved the staff, everyone were very helpful and nice.

Location, location, location! Situated in the heart of Gion on a beautiful street full of old Japanese guesthouses. The room we stayed in was Yukari at the rear of the property which we were told was more than 100 years old, yet it was beautifully renovated for modern comfort. The room even had pet goldfish to keep us company. The staff was friendly and super helpful - we could tell they took pride in working at such a traditional Japanese guesthouse and loved their job!

Not easy to get to with public transportation. Must taxi or walk. For one night, 2 days, we did not use the bus and subway pass (2 x 1100 yen down the drain).

Excellent property with extremely helpful staff. Shout out to Taku and Bhandari! The superior room was excellent, very spacious with heated tatami mats. The breakfast was simple and made specially for us vegetarians. The location is excellent, 2-3 mins walking distance to Kodai-ji temple and Yasaka shrine. I would highly recommend it.

The room description did not match reality: it was advertised as having a garden view, but the room faced a green wall just 1 meter from the window. There was therefore no external view, and the room was very dark due to the lack of natural light. Additionally, I was informed the day before my arrival that luggage storage on the morning of our last day would not be possible because the property was closing, even though we had one last day to spend in Kyoto. As a result, we had to make a specific trip to the station to use lockers. It would have been better if the hotel had been more transparent about these aspects

The location in the Gion district was excellent, the aesthetics of this hotel were also very pleasing, and the room, though quite small, was comfortable. Notably, the bathroom was extremely well-designed and very enjoyable. The Japenese breakfast was also appreciated ( but not the continental breakfast served outside the hotel )
