We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ChileNothing! Everything was perfect.
Since we arrived at Mara Intrepids, they welcomed us like royalty. Our assigned driver was Paul who took care of all our Safaris, every day and every daily route was geared towards showing us the best of Masai Mara, he is definitely responsible for half of all our amazing experiences. He was in charge of contacting us with the Ballon Safari, an experience that I recommend not to be missed and take us to visit the Masai Mara Village. Upon arriving at the Camps, Debbie, Queen and Daysi welcomed us, with exquisite hot towels for our hands and an exquisite juice, offering and demonstrating to us in spades during our stay that they would be there for everything we needed and that was the case. Our room was taken care of by Leah, who every day dedicatedly prepared our room, closed our musketeers, set out hot water bottles and brought hot chocolate or coffee for us before our first daily game drive around 6 am. After returning from our Safaris, delicious food awaited us in the restaurant where Shillaw and Masila were in charge of serving us, knowing our tastes and often anticipating our requirements, they consented our son with all his tastes. I just want to say, if you want to know Masai Mara, the place is Mara Intrepids. It is worth every penny and despite being as generous as we could with our tips, it will never be enough to compensate for the attention. Asanté!!

BelgiumWe arrived a Saturday afternoon by normal car and were stopped at the entrance of Masai Mara because we were not travelling with 4 wheel drive (this was not indicated on Booking.com). We tried to contact the lodge to come and pîck up us at the entrance but nobody replied (we tried 3 different numbers) while we had confirmed that same morning of our late arrival. Finally we had to hire a Masai to drive us to the lodge. It costed us 8000 ksh and we were feeling very unsecured because we did not know the driver and it was getting dark. Fortunately, we arrived safely. At the reception, we were told that the numbers available on Booking.com were from Nairobi office, which is closed on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. We found this explanation unacceptable as the minimum would have been to provide the number of the lodge when the central office is closed. As compensation, we got reimbursed of some of our drinks but not of the full amount of the taxi and not for the inconvenience created. Pity for such a nice place !
We very much enjoyed the site, the staff and the safaris' guide.

United KingdomA breathtaking experience. The resort is beautiful, the staff fantastic and the safari drives were astonishing. Our guide Joab was the best. We saw all that the Mara had to offer, extraordinary close ups with leopards, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, elephants and countless others. Highly recommended.

KenyaThe staff are welcoming. The facilities are beautiful and well maintained. Our guide was knowledgeable and we saw an incredible range of wildlife. The tents are very comfortable and all meals were lovely. Although it is nice to take the breakfast and eat while on safari, eating breakfast at the camp is nicer.

United KingdomNothing, I wouldn’t change a thing!
This is a well sited a superbly maintained safari camp close to the airstrip and beside a river. The tented facilities are comfortable and spacious and sufficiently dispersed to ensure privacy. The staff are, without exception, polite efficient and very helpful and the safari drives were extremely interesting and fruitful guided as they were by excellent drivers who know the area like the back of their hand. I must also commend the catering which was superb. To produce a delicious 5 course lunch and 6 course dinner in the middle of the Masai Mara takes exceptional skill!

CanadaThe food was well prepared but there was no Kenyan food on the menu which was disappointing. Also the price of drinks is very high
Access to national park and guide/driver. Sakut (aka John) was the best guide we have had in all our travels. We had hours of safari every day. He was knowledgeable and an excellent tracker. We saw more animals than we ever imagined possible. One of the servers Pomba (aka Metrine) organized an African dinner which was fantastic. Also we required a battery and inverter system to run a CPAP machine overnight when the electricity to the camp is turned off. Duncan organized this in a very efficient and stress free way and without it our trip would have been much less enjoyable.

The whole camp is amazing, the tents are very substantial with all luxuries you will need (proper shower and toilet) and get a hot water bottle each night which was lovely. Food is incredible and safari drives and drivers were exceptional! All in all an incredible trip and can't fault it.

from start to finish, Mara intrepids was a beautiful magical experience! this was in large part due to our amazing game drivers, Joab and Mark. They were perfect pair who complemented each other - Joab is the most experienced and knowledgeable driver we could have asked for, and Mark is currently training but you wouldn’t be able to tell - his knowledge, enthusiasm and passion is so clear for all to see. They made an amazing team who were lucky to form a family with for 5 days and see such incredible moments. everyone at reception - daisy and Cecilia- were amazing and so helpful. We can’t wait to go back and for anyone going we can’t recommend Intrepids enough - and request Joab and Mark!

Daisy at reception, Paul in the dining room and Dennis our guide were exceptional. They went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Dinner choices ans quality were superb and plenty of choice in the breakfast and lunch buffet. A river view cabin is something everyone should request as it makes for a memorable afternoon chilling out watching the wildlife come to drink.

United StatesIt’s rather expensive property but the wine list is very disappointing. For a $1000+/night accommodation most of the wine bottles (with exception of a couple champagne options) are $7 retail bottles. It would be great to highlight more South African wines from the mid- and high range.
We had an amazing stay at Mara Intrepids. The tents were super comfortable with good quality mattress and pillows. The shower water was hot. The service through the stay was exceptional. You get a dedicated person taking care of cleaning your room, setting up mosquito net at night, bringing bed warmers at night and hot coffee in the morning. The restaurant food was pretty good with a lot of options and our server Mercy was super nice and funny. The game drives are amazing! You can have up to 3 drives a day or combine two of them into a longer 6-7 hour drive. Our driver / guide Raphael was the best - very knowledgeable and friendly. He took us to all the great spots and we couldn’t be more happy with him.

United Arab EmiratesWe like pretty much everything however the swimming pool could have been heated up. We understand that it is new but it would have been nicer with a temperature controlled pool.
We pretty much liked everything really from the room to the staff .Mara Intrepid had been a unique and mesmerizing experience for me and my family. The room was fantastic for a camp . It was comforting & camp overlooked the Mara River and the sound of the flowing river was incredibly soothing & relaxing. From drinking tea and eating snacks in the camp’s balcony, dancing and grooving together in to sitting and soaking the outside nature with lantern lights and amidst the sound of nocturnal animals - all of the experience was raw and breathtaking. The staff is what made this place special and the room service was fantastic too as we got coffee and hot chocolate every morning as a wake up call at 5:30 am with a knock on our camp. We would set off to our journey at 6:30 am with our guide Simon ( the best & recommended guide if you plan to visit the camp) who would take us to the wilderness and help us witness the glorious sunrise with hot air balloons going up in the air and wilderbeasts running in a queue to migrate to the other side. We also saw zebras migration followed by a lovely breakfast in the masai - yes in the wild. It was truly an amazing experience. A similar experience would happen in the afternoon, we would set off at 4:30 and would be back at 7:00 post the sunset . The weather was lovely - cool breeze early morning and in the evenings . We saw many animals - lions marking their territories- cheetah enjoying their kill - hyenas, jackals and vultures feasting on lions leftover meals. Hippos bathing and sleeping in flocks - Giraffes basking in the sun’s glory - leopard showing off its beauty - oh what a rare sight! We also went to see the Masai Village which was a wonderful cultural experience. During our stay, Nixon was helpful in the kids club & made us do some sport activities together. In the restaurant area, sylvestar gave us an exceptional service during our 3 nights stay in the camp.

SingaporeUnfortunately, some of the camp facilities were destroyed by the recent flood and being repaired. Wish we were there a bit later to enjoy all the facilities. Of course these are unexpected events and outside of the camp's control.
Our guide Dominic was great and accommodating. The wait staff at the restaurant were super friendly. The camp staff made us feel safe and taken care of at all times. They even threw in a surprise for us. We didn't want our stay to end.
