Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandBed was a little lumpy and a bit uncomfortable.
We had a private room with own bathroom in one of the villas. The pool and bar/restaurant on roof top was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. The day trips organised through hostel are great - we did countryside tour with caves, pepper farm + visit to Kep ( ate fresh seafood at crab market! Delicious). Meals were great at hostel and reasonable prices. All ages were seen at this hostel. Thank you.

AustraliaNothing at all. Great stay. Thanks
Great location just outside town. A short tuk tuk ride of a comfortable walk. Big room, comfortable and friendly staff. Restaurant has great food. No need to eat anywhere else. Fun bar with funky music. We stayed 3 nights could have easily stayed longer.

DenmarkOne very small detail.. the light in the room was a very bright ceiling light. A warmer bedside light would make it much cosier in the evening.
Karma Traders is the dream hostel! Good value, delicious food (loved taco tuesday), lovely pool area, hammocks and lots of other places to rest and relax, comfortable rooms, social if you want it to be but not party. We stayed 6 nights and loved it. It is outside of central Kampot but walkable in the less hot parts of the day or easy with a bike or tuktuk

Really friendly and well organised hostel, catering for backpacker groups, couples and solo travellers. Helpful staff always available. Comfortable and clean rooms. Perfect location just 10 mins outside Kampot centre. We are mature travellers but felt perfectly at home here!

ItalyI found some ants in my beds. There was no towel (but it is mentioned in Booking). The available breakfast is not for 2 dollars, as written in Booking. The place is quite far from the city by foot (a walk in a long street with traffic and no sun shading) but you can use Grab.
It has been a very good experience! The place is clean, the beds are comfortable, and the staff is very nice. There are scooters for rent (not really high quality tho, since the brakes weren't really working perfectly) for 6 dollars/24 hours. The hostel organises special nights in their terrace (bar(restaurant). Very fun. Very beautiful bathroom! They help you booking the buses for your next destination. Really good

CanadaA bit outside of town, but only a 10-15 minute walk. No real complaints!
My partner and I booked a dorm, but since it was over the Christmas period, we hoped to change it to a private room. We asked about this when we arrived, and Jolly and the front desk staff worked hard to accommodate our request and we ended up in a beautiful private room. While there we enjoyed the delicious meals at the in house restaurant and by the pool. Wifi was strong, even for video calls. Bed was one of the most comfortable we experienced in SE Asia. Hot shower. Good happy hour deals on the drinks. All the staff were extremely pleasant and welcoming, and we would HIGHLY recommend this spot for anyone staying in Kampot!

Czech RepublicThe place is very well kept, clean and run by nice and always smiling people. The place serves breakfast, if you want to get social, they have regular nights with a program. You can rent a scooter for 24 hours which is a good way to explore Bokor National park.

The best hostel we’ve stayed in SE Asia! So clean, the staff are the best, really social rooftop area (quiz night on Sunday and Taco Tuesday) but not a party hostel which we loved. Pool area is a nice touch and the best hostel dog, Peach. Lovely breakfast too!

FranceJust one bathroom for 8 beds It's a bit out of the city center but easily walkable (20-30min) or cheap by grab + that's also the reason why it's chill & quiet
I really loved my stay at Karma Trader's (I ended up extending to 1 week) The vibe of the hostel, very chill but still social There are lot of places where you can chill (rooftop, the pool) They organise activities so it's easy to meet people The beds are super comfortable

United KingdomIf you don't drive a scooter you will have to get a Tuk Tuk into town but this only costs a dollar or so.
We stayed in a private room in a bungalow in the grounds - the room was incredibly spacious and comfortable and the shower was hot! We really enjoyed the restaurant and bar where the food was good and the prices were reasonable. The hostel has a real sense of personality that has clearly been well curated and it makes for a fun and inviting space for young travelers, older adventurers and families alike! We were worried it would be too much of a party place for us but we were wrong - everyone was so chilled and respectful but we still got to meet other travellers, enjoy the live music on the roof and get to sleep with no disturbances! We spoke with Jolly the owner several times and he's such a nice guy who genuinely cares about his guests and their experience - Karmer Traders made our time in Kampot!

United KingdomA hummingbird that kept tapping on my window at strange times in the night. It obviously had forgotten to charge its Apple Watch. This really did happen but was out of the control of the hostel.
Friend staff, great food at good price, very social.
