We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

United KingdomThe staff were very lovely and helpful. The hostel was a walk through the jungle though and the room felt a bit unclean.

United KingdomRooms aren’t sealed so may have to swat a few mosquitos away but not a major problem when understanding the location.
Everything you need if you don’t mind being in and amongst the jungle. Guys who work there are all so lovely and very helpful, great recommendations and sorted everything we needed with the least of fuss.

ItalyDue to heavy rain the bathroom sinks were filled with dead bugs, but no one cleaned them until the next day. There is music until 3am and it is very loud, if you have trouble sleeping this is not the place for you.

IrelandWe were in a private room and A fridge would have been useful to keep some water cold. The music from the bar or nearby bars can be heard at night even with earplugs as the door wasn’t fully sealed.
All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Great location away from the main busy areas but can get to long set pier in 10 minutes walk and Koh touch 20 mins walking along the coast. The room is very spacious and there are lots of hammocks to chill on. They also offer a laundry service which was really convenient and we were able to book tours and the bus and boat transfers with them also.

ThailandDoor wouldn't stay shut as latch broken, causing us to both get lots of bites. You had to pay to refill your water, a lot of other places offering it for free. Loud at night.
Lovely staff always trying to help. Cool feeling like you're staying in the jungle. Nice showers and toilets. Really comfortable bed.

New ZealandIt’s not that I didn’t like it but just a heads up. Showers and toilets are outside. Mostly cold showers unless the sun had heated up the tank. Rooms are very simple could do with a good deep clean as there was quite a bit of dust around the bed. Air Con turns on at 5pm, having food poisoning and lying in the hot room during the day was rough. Overall it’s fine for a “budget hostel”
Nice location - it’s still a bit of a walk to the Pier but closer than other hostels for sure. It’s a short bush walk to the beach which is lovely. The hostel has a nice layout but it is very simple.

United KingdomOld bottle from previous guests was left in our bathroom and the shower head wasn't attached to the wall but for the price we weren't too bothered!
Location was perfect, especially if you're going to Nestival, close enough that you can walk there but far enough away you can get a good night's sleep with earplugs in! Lovely bar area with hammocks and tables. The staff were also super friendly! Would definitely reccomend.

SwedenStaff asked me if I wanted to buy weed. Music was played all night from the club ”Nest” with such a force that the bed was vibrating, which prevents sleep..
It’s in a beautiful setting and the price is reasonable. The location is only a few minutes away from the beach and to get there you walk on stunning jungle paths which I really enjoyed.

United KingdomBecause people stay here and go to the Nest parties people come back very late, so the first night we were both disturbed by people coming in due to their noise and also the bed lights, so I wore an eyemask and earplugs the second night and slept much better.
Comfy beds with good AC, large and clean toilet and shower facilities, easy scooter rental, cool jungle location with good lighting to get there even in the dark, for those going to Nest it's close by, but you don't hear the music in the dorms. Food & drinks available on site and reasonably priced water refils. Soon there will be privates available too. Lots of space outside, friendly doggos, hammocks and seating area to chill in and socialise. Recommend.

United KingdomThis isn’t a negative, just a warning - the hostel is in the middle of the jungle, about a 5-10 minute walk from the beach. There are some lights along the way (assuming no power cut), but it’s pretty dark after sunset. We had a head torch which I would definitely recommend. Also bring bug spray!
The beds were massive and very comfy, there were lockers to store our stuff in and everything was pretty clean. The staff here are really kind and it’s definitely a great value hostel!

United KingdomThis isn’t a negative, just a warning - in order to get back from the beach in the evening you do have to do a 10-15 minute walk through the jungle and over the lagoon. There are a few lights up for about half of the walk but it is still quite dark and there can be power cuts on the island. We were fine with our phone lights and a head torch but it’s worth taking into consideration.
This is a great place to stay in, by far the cheapest hostel around Long Set Beach and it’s really good value for money. The beds are big and super comfortable, they also have lockers so you can keep your stuff space. You can also chill out and get some food at the bar. It’s right in the middle of the jungle and perhaps a little more rustic but it’s on an island so all part of the fun! Staff were always very kind.

United KingdomPower cut would make showers cold if that bothers you. Just make sure you charge electronics when you can/use a portable. Good amount of bugs but that’s an issue everywhere on the island from what I’ve heard
Dolla the nicest host I’ve met throughout my travels. Most spacious beds I’ve had in any hostel and by far the best sleep I’ve had in one. Really good and affordable food and a chilled atmosphere at the bar. Dogs were also really friendly there which was nice.

United KingdomWhichever way you walk when you arrive (from the beach or the road), they are down a little path. It's pretty basic but it's cheap so what do you expect. They do turn the electricity (and air con) in the rooms from 12 noon to 4pm
The location was great! 2 minutes walk to the most beautiful beach through a jungle path. There is a port where you can take money out (no ATMs on the island) and some yummy restaurants! If you walk the other way for about a 1km you can get to the other port town, which is the busier tourist side. There is Nest hostel very close, which is good for karaoke and Sunday lunch (Sundays) and have events on the other days of the week too. You can hire motorbikes to get around the island! And the staff there will do anything for you! The beds are spacious and there's storage too. There are also puppies and friendly dogs that greet you every morning! The shower facilities were large with separate toilets!

United KingdomI think the showers/toilets could use a slight sprucing up but they did the job and were good enough but could have been a little nicer. The rooms could be a little more air tight to stop mosquitoes getting into the rooms free of will. And there could maybe be a way over the lagoon that Is a little more direct but not necessary!
The staff were amazingly helpful both the locals and the western volunteers, they were always happy to help us and perfectly layed back which made me feel like I was never being a burden when asking for something. The vibe here is top tier and I am sure the owner will turn it into his dream in no time. The food and drinks were really good and reasonably priced so the location of the hostel was definitely not too much of a pain

United KingdomThe AC was weak so the rooms get hot. The shower pressure also disappears completely if you are not one of the first to shower! But it’s island life so not the complete fault of the hostel
We loved our stay! Great value, lovely staff and just a great vibe generally. The food is delicious and the drinks are cheap. It was super easy to meet other guests as it is a small hostel and it has a really nice social area, so we made lots of great friends. 5 min walk to a quiet and beautiful area of the beach and super close to Nest.

ItalyIt is clear that somethings need to be fixed still: sometimes there is no water in the bathrooms, the rooms are always dusty (generally speaking they could use more cleanliness), the bathroom is in another structure from the dormrooms (which is not really ideal in the night time, given the lack of walkway connecting the two buildings). Breakfast is expensive and not really worth it, while the dinner is very good (still expensive)
Remarkably authentic hostel, just a stone away from the beach, in the middle of a small patch of jungle. Infrastructure is new.

United KingdomThe location of the hostel is only accessible by a 5/10 minute walk through the jungle, which is partially lit. As a solo female traveller, I unfortunately felt that it wasn't safe to venture out by myself once it was dark, as who knows what/who you could meet. I fortunately made friends with some girls so was able to walk with them, but otherwise wouldn't have felt safe (I travel lots of places but think it is still a bit dangerous!) It was difficult to shower at 6pm as there was hardly any water, just a drizzle.
The single beds are bigger than average and you have a blackout curtain and light, so it felt private. The air con was good You can get food and drink here

United KingdomIn the jungle so very hot compared to on the beach and air con is turned off during the day, and got to be avid with mozzie spray especially when walking to and from the beach through the jungle. You have about 5 mins to shower before the water pressure goes. We booked a bus ticket through reception staff and they booked it to the wrong city which messed up our entire journey.
Comfortable beds, good air conditioning, showers and toilets were fine. Staff were nice. ~3 min walk to beach through jungle. And ~8 min walk to restaurants. Towels are provided.
