Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe streets were a little noisy but some might say that's part of the charm of being in the city.
The owner was so helpful in getting us transportation and a guidefor our daily destinations. Breakfast was worth the extra cost.

Japanno issues.
This was a very comfortable boutique hotel. The whole hotel was decorated lovely. It was done artistically which made the experience very pleasant. There were only 5 rooms in the hotel which gave it a small comfortable feeling. A gallery was part of the building showing a local artist. The owner Pascal and his staff were the warmest and friendliest. A great conclusion to my Cambodian trip. A decent breakfast for $6.

United KingdomEverything was perfect.
A simply designed, beautifully appointed french colonial boutique hotel. Superb service from the super friendly owner, Pascal. He and his team couldn't have done more for us, including rearranging our transfer so we could take the new fast ferry to Koh Rong direct from Kampot. Pascal booked everything, door to door, saving us money and reducing our travel time by over 2 hours. The best breakfast of our whole 4 weeks in Cambodia and Laos. Beautiful omelette, crusty French baguette, flaky croissant, and quality fresh fruit. Amazing, I hope we can return one day.

AustraliaWe stayed here only for one night and that was great. I enjoyed the interior design of our room very much even though I would have loved to see all the other rooms as well :) The location was very convenient to enjoy what's there to do in the Kampot centre - which is not much - I was glad we have booked to stay at other two places two nights each near / outside Kampot that were both amazing and allowed us to experience also the Kampot countryside and river areas. I went to Kampot years ago and had fond memories but coming back now it seemed that things have changed since and the city centre area and riverfront didn't seem that great anymore, so it was definitely worth it staying in a nice place like the Hotel Hotel La Java Bleue to make it more special :) The hotel staff / manager were very nice and helpful with organising motorbike taxi to the Bokor National Park which made for a fun day combined with the night in town :)

FranceWe found it too expensive given the equipments and services: we stayed in another hotel of the city the night before, same level but for a slightly lower price, but with nicer food, personnel that was more helpful and a swimming pool!
Nice decoration, large room, location right in the city center of Kampot so very easy to access all restaurants, the market and walk by the river.

AustraliaNo fault of the hotel, but you can clearly hear the busy street noise, especially in the mornings, so if you're a light sleeper you may want to bring earplugs.
Right from the get go Pascal was SO welcoming, friendly and very informative. He gave us an excellent overview of Kampot and all the options as far as tours and restaurants go. He also has perfect French, English and Cambodian (I would imagine!). The hotel is located right near all the restaurants and bars that Kampot has to offer and very close to the waterfront. The building is beautiful and the room was very impressively decorated, we loved all the little details throughout the building and room. Merci beaucoup Pascal, à la prochaine!

Czech RepublicUnfortunately there was a lot of noise from a close by bar until late into the night. I would have appreciated a warning about this as I would have been willing to switch to a smaller room if it was quieter.
The owner was very friendly and helpful. We also liked the design of the hotel and the photography exhibition.

AustraliaPerfect central location, beautiful decor. Breakfast was wonderful sitting on the veranda. The staff were lovely and so accomodating. I think we were actually the only people staying there. Kampot itself is lovely and we could have easily spent a few more days wandering about the quiet streets!
