Lovely relaxing stay at this place, bed was comfortable and shower was good, communal area was chilled and loved the hammocks. The food was absolutely delicious and I recommend the chicken lok lak to anyone 👌 free kayaks are a nice touch and the host got us a scooter for very reasonable price. Staff here are friendly and so helpful. Thank you for making our stay an enjoyable one!

The bathroom lock was slightly broken (had to force it which was quite loud) which meant that I was a bit worried about waking people up with the noise if I needed the toilet at night. Very minor detail though.

Absolutely beautiful, calm and tranquil location which is just what we needed. Right by the green cathedral and we made use of the free kayaks at sunset which was a great experience. The food here is amazing and we were regularly being given free fruit, sweet treats and water. The property is decorated beautifully, I did yoga on the balcony and hung out with one of the lovely cats. Such good value for money. I loved my stay here and would 100% come again.

Wow where do I start . Retro Guesthouse is hands down my favourite place I've stayed in Cambodia. Monika and her wonderful team are so friendly and attentive . The food is amazing and very fresh . The whole place has a really peaceful relaxing vibe . My room was a good size and had air con . I really enjoyed the free kayak rental . I couldn't recommend to stay here enough . I already want to come back . Thank you !

The staff is very friendly and helpful. We arrived and we were greeted with a fresh glass of water and a bowl of fruit. No questions asked. This was also provided during dinner and breakfast. The accommodation is clean and space enough for the traveller. A plus for us was also that we felt safe to leave our hiking bags there while we were doing a 2 day trip. All combined a nice accommodation to stay in during your stay in Cambodia.

We struggled to sleep with no aircon as the bungalows were quite hot at night. The free kayaks are great, but the river water is actually quite dirty and smells of sewage (not the fault of the guesthouse at all but just an FYI)

We stayed in a bungalow on the water front for a few nights and had a lovely few days! We loved the communal area of the guesthouse and ate breakfast and dinner everyday here (so delicious!! Recommend the amok curry and chicken curry!). The bungalow was comfortable and the shower was always hot. The ladies working at the guesthouse are all super nice and always gave us water and fruit when we sat down!

Great place! Staff was amazing and super helpful, place is clean and cozy, very comfortable stay all in all. You got a kayak for free which before we paid 8$ in a rental place, so do your math what’s worth it. 🙂

Free kayak excelent location to go to kayak river trip, scooters available to go to the city, everything was clean, staff was very friendly - often had free fruit salad and water for us after journey. Even for mosqitos they had inceces so we did not had any problems with mosqitos. Excelent simple accommodation.

Everything about the guesthouse was perfect. The green cathedral was getting quite developed, though, and there was a lot of trash in the water. However, that wouldn't put me off staying at the guesthouse again.

Beautiful bungalow in lovely gardens. The wood construction and palm thatch is so comfortable, and looks good too. Nice bathroom with a good shower. Super friendly and helpful staff. Good food!

Can't say enough good things about this place. Even though there's a language barrier, the staff really makes an effort and is kind and lovely. They let me check in and check out late because no one booked immediately before or after me. The place is lovely and relaxing and I really appreciated the mosquito net. Despite traveling throughout South-East Asia extensively, this is my first time using one and it really helped. I thought i'd feel claustrophobic, but surprisingly not. Oh, also, loved the kayak experience. I was nervous about getting lost, but I made it out ok. Haha. I should mention that this is a guesthouse not premium luxury so you should manage your expectations. That said, I've stayed at "fancier places" and this is still my favourite place to stay in all of Cambodia!

Great location literally on the ‘Green Cathedral’ loop off the Tuek Chhu River, Kayaks provided. Motorbikes available to make the 15 min ride into Kampot. Very lovely & comfortable garden rooms with veranda. Great food served in very chilled terrace space. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Rubbish in the river and in Cambodia everywhere - not the guesthouse's fault obviously .... Bad smell wafting from the river at times People smoking everywhere all the time - no smoking and non-smoking areas concept adopted in Cambodia.....

We stayed here for a couple of nights following our one-night stay in the town centre and two-night stay in the countryside near Kampot on the other side of the river so we were happy to mostly just relax here and do some kayaking and explore the neighbourhood, including walk to the nearby Muslim village and rice fields and back to the main river for sunset drinks at the Hideaway. The Retro Kampot staff were extremely kind, generous and nice and the common area was very relaxing with delicious meals served here and free water and fruit salad offered whenever we came here. We stayed in the riverfront bungalow with aircon, two beds and a little balcony that was very cute although it got hot sitting outside and at times there was bad smell coming from the river and the palms and all the greenery felt almost too oppressive so - ironically - we preferred being away from the river :) It is so sad seeing all the rubbish everywhere and floating in the river - it was quite off-putting and we didn't feel comfortable jumping in the water even though originally we planned to go to the local river waterparks. Instead, we just enjoyed relaxing at the Retro Kampot Guesthouse :)

This was such a lovely experience! I recommend taking the kayak out for a sunset tour, as I was alone Monica joined and it was just lovely. The food is also very good and the staff is just amazing.
