Staff & Food were extraordinary! Moreover I loved the calm & easy vibe of Sunset Beach. The walk from Eden Pier — even with a big backpack is bearable. Staff welcomed me and the friend I made along the way with a cold & delicious homemade lime lemonade! I stayed in the big bamboo house where the dorms are located. The bamboo house is nicely decorated. I liked its spacious style. Sleeping you hear the sound of the ocean in the distance.

Best location within the beach community it’s in, the bungalow was a bit compact but was adequate and fun. Had a spacious bar, restaurant area to watch the sun drop into the ocean from. All the food was fantastic lovely seafood and massive pizzas.

Amazing beachfront location ❤️ You have a little hike to get there but that makes the place even special! No crowds of tourists around. Stayed in this location for 12 nights ☺️ The best restaurant and pizza in the sunset beach. Trust me, I tested them all! Lovely hostel, bar and kitchen staff ☺️❤️ Definately would recommend this place for everyone who is looking for a peace but also meeting likeminded people who chose this diamond 🙏 Thanks Sunboo 🤗

This place is amazing. Everybody makes you feel at home, there is a very cool vibe and they make sure that you are having a great time. The cabin was amazing. One thing to be aware is that you are in the middle of the jungle, which means: you are going to hear all the bugs at night, and you need to cross the island in order to get there. I have to say that I am zero adventurous and I complained about these things, and I still loved the experience. The restaurant is also really good, pizzas were incredible. And it looks like they think of everything to make you have a great time: sand towels, hammocks, games, books you can borrow, there is a place next door for activities... But the best were the people that run the place. Honestly, 100% recommend.

You will not find anywhere else where you’re made to feel so welcome, so looked after, and so pampered. We’ve travelled all over the world and honestly this was some of the best experiences in hospitality and attention to detail we’ve come across. A superb team in an absolutely stunning sea front setting. We stayed at each of the different accommodations along Sunset Beach and this absolutely kicked ass of the others. Hands down the winner. Highly recommended.

Didn't dislike anything!

Sunboo beach bungalows was the best place me and my partner visited throughout our travels. It's on the other side of the island which is abit of a walk/hike but once you arrive there's no reason to leave! The food tasted incredible, the beach was so clean and some of the best snorkling we've done! The sunsets each night were amazing to watch! All the owners were lovely and nothing was too much trouble! We are already dreaming about coming back!!

When you are not arriving at the Eden Peer, it’s a long way to walk there. And there is no clear indication unless you walk to the Eden peer. Not recommanded for travellers with suitcases.

You must appreciate to do nothing when you go to sunset beach.

This place is not for everyone. If you are looking for 5 star luxury, no bug-worries and constant A/C - go somewhere else. But if you are a true traveller seeking something exceptionel - see above and don't worry, just hurry! :-)

We travelled as a family: Mom, dad and 9yo daughter. Our stay on Sunboo Beach Bungalows was near the end of our 2 months roundtrip in Asia. We stayed 6 nights in 2 bungalows. This review is about that experience and not the dorm rooms, which we have not seen. Where to start? Sunboo Beach Bungalows is more a sort of feeling and experience than just an accomodation. What you read in the other reviews is pretty accurate regarding the smaller details like the great food in the restaurant, the life close to a jungle with possible (and likely) experiences with wildlife, the mindblowing beach, awesome sunsets and truly amazing staff. But this place is something more that goes beyond these details. It is an authentic feeling and a vibe of something maybe soon lost. It has the ability to give you one of those rare experiences which really gives you a lifelong memory. It is not just another point on your travel itinerary - it is the chance of a adding an unforgettable experience to your journey! So don't hesitate - go!!!! Or you will possibly loose out on one of the most unique travelexperiences of your life.

Everything is just perfect, this place is like paradise. The hike to arrive at the beach is a little hard but when you arrive everything worth it. The staff is just so caring, nice and will make you feel welcome during all your stay. I wish I could have stayed longer. The beach is amazing, you can just go and relax without worrying about anything.

Sunset beach is a paradise and SunBoo beach bungalows provides all that you need to feel welcome in this piece of land without interfering into nature and what it has to offer. The staff is welcoming and very helpful, the whole concept of the place is sustainable living and the food is delicious. There is no rush, there is no pressure. Our negative comments are generally minor things as on the whole we were very satisfied! The mattress on our bed sagged in the middle, so could have been more comfortable. The shower is only cold, but that’s not a huge problem because it’s hot and you can also swim in the sea. The bungalows are open structures in some places - thankfully there is a mosquito net, but inevitably you get bitten when taking a shower or going to the toilet… We were offered to have the room cleaned on the day after we arrived, and we declined, and we’re surprised it was never offered again… No extra hand towels or beach towels provided. We had our own beach towels, but a hand towel could have been useful.

The location is great - you definitely want to be on this side of the island! It is worth the hike. The beach is quiet and the sea much calmer than at Saracen Bay. Sunboo has a really nice spot, with lots of hamacs and tables to watch the sunset, and generally a nice vibe. The food at Sunboo is probably also the best on the island (after having tried the other places). They offer free water refills too. Staff are friendly and attentive. Very nice shower gel and shampoo by Bodia, a local organic brand, provided in the bathroom. Right next door is where you can book activities and rent kayaks - we did the plankton trip and took a kayak out for a couple of hours for some snorkelling. We generally had a very relaxing stay!

We would come back anytime again for the beautiful beach, the friendly community and the good food. Any drawbacks are stated either in the description or by other travellers - shortly, you should be a nature person, willing to carry your bags across the island and you should not expect a luxury accommodation. Still, the room and the bed were actually comfy and clean. There was a nice breeze inside the room and the mosquito net worked perfectly. Also plenty of hooks and shelves to put your things. I can only recommend this place for a relaxing beach vacation :)

It is rustic and I was warned and just had to suck it up when it came to creepy crawlies.

Incredible location with magnificent beach. Truely feels like paradise. The staff are genuinely lovely people who ensure your needs are all met and the food is absolutely divine. I pray this property survives the looming developers.
