Host is amazing! Helps you with everything and happy to chat. Rooms are comfortable and are not too hot even without AC. Close to everything but at the same time in quiet area.

Room was designed for fan with large wall mesh vents which limit aircon ability, and will make you feel bad for using it. Could velcro covers be made for when someone chooses aircon option? Other reviews say cleanliness impecable, it wasn't, though I've no complaints here.

General upkeep sound, good quiet policy, excellent bed. Aircon serviced.

Digan went above and beyond to make nature my comfort and happiness, from offering affordable scooter rentals, to laundry service, to onward travel. I will be back, and highly recommend Ta Eng!

Great place at a great location. Owner is super nice and helpful and the room is in good condition and very comfortable. I booked 2 nights and stayed a whole week because the room was so comfortable. Also great laundry service. Will come again :)

Ground floor rooms window onto courtyard, so not particularly private, not sure about the upper ones. Can't complain for the price though. Advertised on Booking with a restaurant on-site, but there isn't. Places close by though.

Clean budget stay. Friendly helpful host. No food on-site, or moped hire (as some reviews say), but bicycle hire, and 2-3 places to eat within 100m, centre or town only 5-10 min walk. No AC, but fan works fine, was there in January and didn't need AC. Wi-Fi works fine too. No fridge, but a kettle and glasses.

Attentive owner always there to make guest feel comfortable. Nice rooms, especially in the second floor, with kind of a shared balcony hallway. Spotless rooms with dimmable night light. Enjoyed the possibility of renting good condition grandmother style one gear bicycles 1,25$/day to explore the surroundings. Onward travel bookable hassle free and free water refills. With this price it doesn’t get better than this. Highly recommended.

Dickens , the owner, was most helpful and polite. I thoroughly enjoyed my brief stay at Ta Eng Guesthouse and wish I had stayed there before. The location is in a quiet part of town and around a ten minute walk to the Durian roundabout. I would like to thank him for all the drinks he gave me as part of the Chinese New Year festivities !

It was very warm even with the fan, opt for a room with ac! Bathroom was quite small but was otherwise fine. A bit of a ways from town, it would have been nice to be closer but we did find some things to do and places to eat close by.

It met all our needs. Was very reasonably priced and the staff were very nice and helpful. Bed was soft but comfortable.
