Only 2 toilets for too many guests. Electric shower doesn't get warm and messes up with the light, which doesn't offer much confidence safety wise. English breakfast doesn't match the picture on the menu, so it's not worth its price, in my opinion

Wow. Super host who arranged complimentary tuk tuk from bus station, smooth check in, good a/c with comfortable bed, clean and fresh linens with lots of hot water. This family run hostel has a host who understands traveller needs. BUNLANG organized a great group dinner with good food for guests to meet and greet. We all greatly appreciated this as the majority were solo travellers. BUNLANG also helped organized group tours which is very nice to help reduce costs and make new friends. Local Family Hostel also rents scooters which is very handy and sell bus tickets. Location is also good with multiple markets close by along the water way.

The upstairs area could do with a spruce up! Only one upstairs and one downstairs bathroom.

Nice social vibe in this hostel. The downstairs area was really nice. Family dinner was good. The tours on offer are very well priced. Bed was comfy and the shower is decent. Upstairs roof area nice to sit and chill in evenings.

One improving point would be about the tour, maybe not much the hostel itself... it would be lovely if the tour guide offered more explanations before we visited the places rather than after, so we can get into them with a briefing of what it is and the significance of it.

The Real Place is surely a good value for money! It is close to everything in the central area. The place is simple but offers everything you need, toiletries, free water refill, easy to book tours, there is restaurant with affordable good meals and they accept credit card with no fees. This is a family business and the owner of the place and his wife are always helpful and kind. The owner is always seeking ways to make the place nicer to the guests and is open for feedback as well as implement them fast. They organize nice activities for the guests I specially loved the family dinner with delicious Khmer food, I have tried quite some Khmer food and I can assure that the one they do there was one of the best I have tried in Cambodia! They also have microphones and the possibility of doing karaoke which made our night even more fun. I had a blast. Recommend this place!

Only one toilet on the second floor for two dormitories. You have one more shower and WC on the first floor. Bathrooms and the dormitory are not that clean and modern but for 3$/night it’s understandable. Very hot during the day in the dormitory because the A/C is off (On during the night). The motorbike battery was a bit tired, we couldn’t start it with the lights turned on.

The bathroom The air conditioner (I think it's broken, impossible to change the temperature, very cold 🥶). Please, say to the people to use a fan rather than aircon. They are lucky to have both. Sometimes, we really don't need to abuse the aircon.

The place is cozy and comfortable. The owner organizes many things like family dinner (sharing the dinner with all people in the hostel only 4$/pers), and tours with tuk tuk to discover Battambang (temples, bamboo train and bats cave...). The food was good. The owner and his family are so nice (his baby is so cute). He does everything for you and cares about you. He speaks many languages. The rooftop is perfect to chill. Thank you 😊 with pleasure to come back to your hostel.

The owner is really nice and does his best to help you out if you have any problems or questions. The hostel itself is located in the city center, at the bar street with some nice cafés and restaurants. The beds are good and with curtains, also a towel is provided.

Bed size is a bit too small, and beds are spaced too closely to another, which made it hard to walk around especially with big backpack & getting in and out of bed was difficult. I bumped my head a few times due to the narrow space and I’m much shorter than other guests. Also, the blind doesn’t cover the bed entirely, which others can still look inside or the light from my bed can prevent others from sleeping. It would be great to have more hangers in the shower. Ideally the AC should be on all day or periodically to save energy but still keep the room cool all day. I had to go downstairs to ask for the remote control which is not ideal especially when returning from a sunny day outside. We were taking our time to eat and there were other empty tables but the staff was very eager to take our plates away so we felt rushed to finish our food and we were also rushed to pay. I can understand if the restaurant were busy and the place is short staffed but that’s not the case. The floor should be wiped everyday if we need to take our shoes off to enter the building.

This hostel is a welcoming place, the owner is a very chill guy and deserves to be supported by spending your money here. He's very talkative and open. We ended up spending a night with him drinking and chatting.

There are only 2 toilets which in the morning when everyone is waking up could be a hassle.

The bathrooms weren’t that clean, still ok for the price. The tour was not really all inclusive besides the places where the owner informed us that there is an extra fee (e.g. an entrance fee) there where still some places, where we had to pay a little extra.
