Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyHost was very friendly and helpful. I did rent a bicycle for the first day directly in the hotel. The place is not directly in the main part of the city, but near enough (5-10 minute walk). Good staying for this price.

United KingdomOnly negative the WiFi wasn’t great, however our room was at the end of the hall, it worked in the lobby and central areas better.
Great location. Eric is so welcoming and very helpful, lovely chats, all staff really nice. Right next to bus stop and Tuktuks. Walking distance from market, round the corner from great restaurants, coffee hut & pub street. Amazing value for money.

RussiaIn our room didn't work wifi, so we used it in corridor or at first floor.
Very nice place, easy to find, great location, close to many cafes, main square. We've chosen place, cause it's 2 min by walk from one of the bus station. Extremely nice stuff, clean place in local style, good price.

The staff were super helpful and also nice and friendly! They stayed up to let me in because I was arriving late. The room was large and spacious and clean. Nice warm shower :) It is a good location too, restaurants are 5 minutes away. I would recommend this hotel.

United StatesNothing. You can only expect so much for the price and it was much better than expected. 😁
The owners were the most polite and helpful inexpensive guest house people I’ve ever experienced. The price was only $8.10 a night and was very clean. If you’re looking for a discount guest house with smiling, helpful owners, this is the place.

South AfricaAdditional Charge for AC: The necessity to pay extra for air conditioning, while not a major issue during my visit in colder weather, could be inconvenient for guests staying during the hotter months (Feb-July). Location and Dining Options: The guesthouse is a bit further out, and there are limited dining choices in the immediate vicinity. This might pose a challenge for guests who prefer more dining options within walking distance. Water Heater Issues: The non-functioning water heater resulted in cold showers on cold days, which was a discomforting experience.
Charming Khmer Experience with a Few Hiccups Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ My stay at Angkor Ruby Guesthouse was a unique experience with a mix of positives and challenges. The khmer style rooms lent a charming touch, providing a feeling of staying with a local family. However, the need for an extra charge for AC, while not a big issue during my cold-weather visit, could potentially be inconvenient during hotter months (Feb-July). One drawback is the location, a bit further out with limited nearby dining options. The absence of restaurants in the vicinity might be a consideration for future travelers. Additionally, the water heater issue meant enduring cold showers on chilly days, which was a discomforting aspect of the stay. On a brighter note, the staff at Angkor Ruby Guesthouse were a standout feature—super helpful and friendly. Their warm hospitality added a positive touch to the overall experience, making up for some of the inconveniences encountered. In summary, Angkor Ruby Guesthouse offers a distinctive Khmer-style stay, but considerations like the extra charge for AC, location, and water heater functionality might influence your decision, especially during warmer months. The exceptional friendliness of the staff, however, contributes to a more pleasant stay overall.

AustraliaThe Wifi in the room was very bad. Good at the reception, but very hard to get in the room. We booked a room with 2 double beds and we got one double and one king single (I assume): as we are 4 people traveling (2 adults and 2 kids), it worked but was not completely what we asked for.
Eric the owner was very friendly and helpful and happy to help organise any activity that we wanted to do (not always for the best price though, as we found cheaper for a couple of things). The location is good and close to everything.

United KingdomShould have paid more for AC upgrade. Even in winter the rooms are stuffy and humid mainly due to mosquito netting reducing ventilation
Great price and great location with loads of dining options nearby. The night market is 15 min walk away and Pub Street a further 5 min walk. When you become a guest you also get access to Eric, the proprietor and his wealth of knowledge about Siem Reap. He managed to organise tuk tuk tours and Apsara dance show and give recommendations of where to eat. That knowhow was invaluable

ItalyUnfortunately the air conditioning is not included in the price (but there is a fan) , we had not been informed of this, perhaps we would have chosen another structure. The bathroom has no window, no extractor fan. There are only two power outlets. Very inconvenient. The walls were filthy.
Eric and David are two brothers and they opened this business together, they are the real winning card of the structure. Their kindness is incredible. Wonderful people. The location is perfect for walking around the city and for taking excursions outside the city.
