Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsThinking back, I wanted to stay in a traditional hanok. This place offers an experience towards that, but is lacking a garden, and many of the more traditional looks, even though the house itself is traditional i its architecture. Thus, next time I would be willing to pay more for a more luxurious hanok experience.
Location of the accommodation is really good, as it is along the main street of the "old town" of Gyeongju. Archaeological sites and the traditional hanok village are very close by, as are many restaurants and cafes. The modern city centre is further away but also at a walkable distance. The host is very helful and friendly.

ItalyThe bathroom was clearly planned for someone under 170 cm. There is a mini fridge in the room that is LOUD (for some reason that was not put in the common kitchen - we had to disconnect it at night) and there is nowhere to put clothes. It would take so little to make it perfect..
The house is genuinely traditional. The owner was kind, well organized and helped us plan an ideal three days itinerary (detailed map included!). The location is perfect for exploration of the area but also quiet enough to be silent at night.

SingaporeAccomodation is 100yrs old hence understandable that facility will not be modern. Expectation for room once lowered will be good experience..
Location right in the middle of Hwangridangil and places of interested are reachable by foot and bus. Host provided good recommendation and directions were clear easy to follow.

MalaysiaOur private bathroom/toilet was located outside the room so it's a little troublesome to go to the toilet and we have to bring keys each time. Very limited space in the toilet, there's no dedicated shower space and the shower has a shared valve with the basin tap. The owner is based in another guesthouse after checking us in and not around all the time. Although he is available through texts if there's any issues.
It's a different experience to stay within a traditional building. Room and futon was comfortable to sleep in. Location is right in the middle of the cafe street.

GermanyThe photos in the description are somewhat misleading. They are of the courtyard, which is pleasant and simple. The room is much more basic and simple than I had expected. But it has everything I needed, and it is pretty good value for the money. If you come by taxi, as I did, ask for Hwangridan-gil and not Poseok-ro. Not even the locals have any idea where Poseok-ro is.
The owner was unusually helpful and kind. He explained all the sites, providing his own little map. He offered me coffee in his café down the street. The room was quiet, even though this location is in the middle of the most frequented part of town, on a little side street. The bed was a comfortable mattress on the floor. If you don't mind living and sleeping on the floor, this place is fine - perfect for its location in an ancient city loaded with hanoks.

South KoreaThe host wasn't there for the check-in and doesn't speak english. It was a bit difficult to enter and we were lucky to meet two koreans who also didn't know what to do and called the host. They also helped us check-in and translate the instructions only given via phone call...
It was spacious enough for two people and the floor heating kept us warm at night. Even tough it was near the main street, it wasn't noisy at all!

South KoreaLocation was near the main city and Hwangridan-gil, which was very convenient. Also a walking distance from the Hwangnam-dong Royal Tombs, Gyochon Hanok Village and the famous Cheomseongdae Observatory. Accessible distance to Bulguksa Temple, Seokguram Grotto, Gyeongju National Museum and other attractions, and more importantly the Singyeongju KTX station. Though it was slighty hard to find, the owner gave great instructions and even called to give us directions which was nice. When we reached, the owner gave us really useful information on the attractions in Gyeongju and helped us plan our trip.

IrelandThe accommodation was scruffy especially the entry and courtyard. The courtyard was used for rubbish collection and drying towels. No effort was made to make it presentable. We were given an internal room which opened to the shared kitchen. The only window was a tiny window in the toilet. We complained and got moved to another room after two days. There were no plates, glasses etc provided in the kitchen. This was a very poor value and low quality hanok experience.
The accommodation was just off the very busy main street but was quiet at night.

United StatesThere was no breakfast. When I arrived, the proprietor sat me and another woman who arrived at the same time down and told us, with maps, what to see in Gyeong-ju. His advice in some instances was good, but he did not ask if we wanted it. A bit of the Ancient Mariner. The hanok pads in the rooms were thin; my hip bones felt the floor through the night. However, I am an older person, so that may have been the problem.
A good location, near the park where the burial mounds are, and just back of the tourist street.

MalaysiaMr Lee - the owner - was very enthusiastic in suggesting itineraries and recommending restaurants. That saved my own efforts to find information. I truly appreciate that. This experience in fact motivated me to look for in the next city for accommodations with enthusiastic owners. In Daegu, it was Bomgoro Guest House.

CanadaEverything was perfect!!
I really enjoyed staying at the traditional Hanok. The room was clean and tidy. There was a private bathroom in the room. The futons were so comfy. The location of the guesthouse is exceptional!! It was really easy to find it and it was located in a quiet alley at the center of Hwanglidan road. There are so many nice restaurants and cafes near the guesthouse. There is a big convenience store across the guesthouse! In addition, the famous tourist sites are within walking distance.

CanadaWhen we arrived the host gave us a detailed map and explanation of must see places that evening and the next day, given the time we had in Gyeongju. It was so helpful and allowed us to make the most of our time there. The place is in such a great location in walking distance to the main attractions. The property was clean and comfortable. It felt like home! They let us store our bags the next day while we went exploring which was very much appreciated! Would highly recommend.
