Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomIt seemed like there was a problem with mosquitos coming from the drain in the bathroom, but we covered it and it seemed okay, we didn't get bitten while there. The bunk bed was also a bit noisy.
Great location next to a subway station and Gwangjang market. The room was pretty clean and there was a rooftop area you could sit in. Also lots of places to refill water from. All the staff were really friendly and helpful.

PolandBreakfast was poor - extremely sweet (peanut butter, Nutella, jam) and pretty dull.
Staff was great - helpful and spoke perfect English. Rooms were pretty basic, but it was a hostel after all. Bathrooms rather empty, but functional. Nice terrace

SwedenBed was a little uncomfortable and every night there was an annoying noise that sounded like someone upstairs dropping something heavy on the floor, and the sound returned every few minutes. It would be nice to have more space to put your belongings (for example on an additional shelf)
Staff is incredibly nice and helpful. The location is close to popular sights. Room was clean and facilities good. Happy with my stay!

Taiwanthe hotel is aging, so the facilities and the decorations have their own restricts for renew and repair. the location is nice, close to DDP, but the environment is a bit noisy. it's in a alley with many clubs, bar, entertainment place around. Although you don't need to worry about your own safety, still it might make female guests felt scary sometimes.
Bfast is quite basic but still nice - toasts, jams, coffee, milk, etc. The location is great. if you want to visit DDP, it is just 10mins by walk. The staff is so welcoming and willing to help. overall, it's a pleasant stay.

United KingdomThe dongdaemun area is a little bit further out so if you want to be in the middle of the hubbub (vs. myeongdong, hongdae, gangnam and other central sightseeing areas etc.) this is probably not the location for you
Everything felt clean and well maintained and the staff were very friendly and approachable. The room was great size and I really appreciated the natural lighting coming from the window in the room (and also bathroom) and that it was quiet at night. The common area on the roof was perfect for a relaxed, simple breakfast (of toast or cereal) and facilities were good for a microwaved snack. Location was decent: a 5-10 minute walk from jongno 5 (line 1) and dongdaemun (line 4) and close to a convenience store (CU), gwangjang market, dongdaemun design plaza

GermanyThe "deluxe" room is really small, maybe 9qm. Unfortunately, there is no closet to store clothes, and no hangers. All our clothes need to lay on the ground or stay in bagpack. Breakfast was basically, but better than nothing. We don't eat cow milk, we would have been thankful for soymilk to eat the cereals. Breakfast startes at 8, due to the early sunrise we would have liked to have it earlier.
The rooftop area is nice. Room is clean.

United KingdomOur room was a tiny bit small without a lot of space to keep luggage out of the way (our suitcases were just on the floor the whole stay), but this wasn't a big deal.
Reception staff were incredible, very friendly and helpful with any requests or questions. The free breakfast is quite basic but good. Location is great, near to Gwangjang market and near the metro station so getting around is very easy. You can also walk to the Ihwa mural village easily.

United KingdomWe booked for 17 days, so the one thing we really needed was somewhere to put our clothes, but there was nowhere. No wardrobe or drawers. This is maybe not an issue if staying for only a few days, but was tricky for us, but this wouldn't deter us from staying here again. The only other thing is that the stairs are steep and getting up to the rooftop terrace on the 5th floor can be arduous. I sadly broke my ankle 1 week into our holiday so could no longer make it up there. Luckily our room was on the 1st floor so this wasn't an issue, but worth bearing in mind if you have any accessibility issues.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and spoke good English, which was super helpful, as my Korean is at basic level. The hostel is located close to a metro station, making access to the whole city easy. We loved the rooftop terrace and the views it gave. Our room was very pleasant and clean.

Irelandthe area around the hotel was a bit seedy, but certain travellers should just be aware of this when booking. the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner too.
the staff are amazing! so friendly and insisted on carrying our (very heavy) bags up to our room. they give you arrival and departure snacks too. handy accommodation, the breakfast is a nice touch! the space is small, but it has everything you need. the rooftop is great. wouldn’t recommend for more than a few nights stay though! it’s very accessible, and a good starting point for travelling around Seoul. It is in the middle of red light area and there are a lot of bars around. it seemed unsafe at night so perhaps be aware of this if you are female.

IsraelThe street of the hostel is not so nice. The location of the hotel is not in the center of cell although there is a metro station 2 minutes from the hostel. The facilities in the room are basic but for us it was enough.
The best staff in all soul! The staff was kind and helped us with EVERYTHING 😃 The vibes of this hostel are the best and there are amazing people that we've met while we stayed there. The roof is the best thing of this hostel! We spend there lots of time. The view is really beautiful from up there. The hostel is very close to the metro station and there is a convenience store a few meters from the hostel. The hostel is located 5 minutes from a local food market. Basic breakfast is included in the price: coffee, cereals with milk and bread with jam.

United KingdomHard to fault but small things, we would like bigger towels (although this seems to be a Korean thing rather than specific to this place); breakfast items could be replenished more frequently (or spares there) as sometimes the peanut butter or coffee ran out (although the staff happily refilled right away when we asked), and maybe some fruit at breakfast would be nice. But these are minor things, overall fantastic hostel - would recommend and stay again.
Staff were exceptional, so friendly and did everything they could to make it a fantastic stay. Location was quiet but right by the market for delicious food (the market made very famous by Netflix!) and also walking distance to a lot of the main tourist sights. We enjoyed the breakfast, with coffee and peanut butter on toast - nothing fancy but a good start to our day! Appreciated the laundry service too. The place was exceptionally clean too.

GermanyBathroom was a bit run down. Room small but everything You need. only thing is that particularly my room was extremely loud. water pipe sounds, water dripping sound from outside and i am not sure what was happening upstairs, but i thought the ceiling would fall down.
Location is quite good. near subway and also by walking is a lot accessible. Check-in even late at night is uncomplicated. There is lock on the main door which adds more to safety. Staff is nice, friendly and very good at English. complementary snacks while check-in and out is quite cute.
