Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

MalaysiaA little far from Myeongdong Station exit. Lift quite slow because sharing building with others business. The wall maybe thin, because heard kids explosive behavior next room. Private bathroom small and okay but the space for WC toilet bowl is narrow.
The location is excellent. Breakfast standard and nice. Bath towel is big. Wifi good. Shower good. The dorm bunk bed have individual roller shutter for privacy.

FinlandThis is not a complaint about the accommodation or necessarily a negative at all: Myeongdong as a district and the hostel's immediate surrounding area can feel very crowded and touristy.
Excellent location: right by a major shopping street and attractions such as Gyeongbokgung, Bukchon Hanok Village and Insadong very easily reachable by public transportation or walking. Breakfast pretty good (eggs, toast, peanutbutter & jelly, coffee etc.) Very clean! Overall an excellent combination of value for money, comfort and location.

AustraliaFor a 6-bed dormitory, the room is too small. There is not enough space to move around the room. With a very small space in the room luggeges bags and shoes are occupying them. The curtain of my bed is also sagging which made me lose my privacy. I've asked the reception to have it fixed but it was not actioned.
The location is excellent. It is very convenient. It is close to transportation, night market, shopping area and church.

United KingdomThe location is very central, only steps away from Myeongdong shopping district. Easy to access from the airport - the 6015 airport bus drops you off 5 minutes from the location. Handy that the hotel has its own kitchen and dining area so you can make light meals, which helps when you are a lone traveller and don't want to go to dine in a restaurant on your own of if you are on a budget. There are laundry facilities in the hotel, too.

AustraliaThe room for a 6-Bed dormitory is uncomfortably small. There is not enough space for luggages and difficult to move around when aĺl the bags and luggages are on the floor. The bed curtain is sagging and people can see me losing my privacy. I've requested to have it fixed but was not actioned. You will also have to bring your own lock to secure your important belongings inside the cabinet provided.
The location is very convenient. Breakfast is good.

SwedenI stayed here for one night because my other accommodation was so dirty I needed a break. The bed was very comfortable and the curtain gave me a lot of privacy even though I shared the room with other people! Breakfast was good! The staff was very kind. The area is great!

United KingdomAlthough the location in the city is great, actually finding the hotel was a little difficult.
I stayed in the private room and it was very nice and its location is perfect for seeing a lot of the city, only a 25-30 min walk from Seoul tower.

GermanyVery small space. To share this small toilet with more than 4 people is really uncomfortable, but most of the people that I stayed with were very nice. So, in general okay.
The exellent location, very middle of Myeongdong, that leads to anywhere you want to visit. At this price it includes even a breakfast.

United StatesThe hostel didn’t have the most colorful or engaging facade that I’ve seen in other hostels. It’s not the worst to be practical or drab, but I enjoy hostels that lean into being more personal and fun. For me, that’s a big reason to stay in a hostel.
The breakfast was simple but good. Everything was clean and nothing felt gross. I saw people cleaning common spaces every day. The location was convenient and great for exploring the nearby night market.

United KingdomThe bathroom/toilet was tiny and did not look like the photos. It was so small, I thought the shower was somewhere else. I literally had to look for the shower. The place looks like a converted hotel with rooms remodelled into dorms. The hotel doesn't really feel like a hostel, it just feels like a large hotel with dorms, so there's no hostel vibe at all. The price was high for what it was.
Comfortable bed with thick medium/firm mattress. The bed also had two electrical points and 2 USB ports. The privacy curtains did its job, but also had gaps to let the air circulate. The bunks were custom made and sturdy, so that you wouldn't really notice your bunkmate. The free breakfast was okay with a few choices. It was fine for one day. The location is right on Myeongdong where there's endless choices for food. Very busy place, but

AustraliaNothing significant but a little ramp on the lobby to bypass the little stairs or access to basement lift would really be helpful for us travelling with prams and luggages.
Close to everything Myeongdong has to offer. Lovely, accommodating, and helpful staff. Free breakfast is definitely a plus. Great backpacker/hostel ambiance which my wife and I kinda miss.

United StatesWe got a great Genius deal, but full price for the size of the room is a bit high. The toilet is extremely close to the wall in the two-person rooms. Be aware that a tall person may have issues there.
Very clean room, very quiet hostel, and courteous staff. Breakfast was simple but plentiful. Coffee machines are available as well. Shampoo and body wash in the bathrooms, and you can have as many towels as you request. The staff were kind enough to let us leave our luggage for a few hours after check-out. They also have maps available in the elevator lobby. The hostel is also very close to two Metro stations. Overall, we had a great experience there!
