Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Clean hostel with friendly vibes. The dorms were warm (I stayed in February), the facilities were well equipped. I expended my stay a couple of times without a problem. Next time I’m in Almaty I’ll book this hostel again.

It's around 15-20 minutes ride from city centre.
Place is clean. They have a complete kitchen with fridge and microwave. Washroom is clean as well. Nice place to stay for solo travellers.

The receptionist was very obliging and kind, she helped me solve every problems when I was in hostel. The location was good, I can walk to the bus stop and market. The bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet. If I come to Алматы next time, I will live in this hostel again.

Had some loud guests that snored and I couldn’t sleep for one of the nights but it wasn’t the hostel’s fault

There Say which I didn’t like I liked everything.
Everything was so good and excellent people were also so amazing and helpful even they don’t speak properly English. They try to explain us and try to manage to explain everything properly. They all were so humble and so amazing. I’m really happy to stay like this places. I’m a solo traveler. They were so good. I really feel like a home. I feel like I’m staying with my family. it was so good.

There was a cat coming inside the hostel room

The location, far away for everything and to take the bus you need to get the local card, recommend you to install "Yandex Go" before you get there, its like Uber or Indrive.
Its a great hostel, it has everything you need, very well equipped and has free washing machine which I loved.

Location! Far from everywhere but the city bus stops a few minutes away. Many bus lines. One important one is bus 106 which goes directly close to the airport.

It's not the greatest location, and it will take some getting past what the property exterior looks like (there are some construction work) but the inside is comfortable so that's the most important
Nice hostel with a homely traveller feel, it's rather small so you many not have much chance to meet like minded travellers Staff were great and helpful, appreciated the breakfast and laundry facility

Everything is positive about this property. I can't think of staying anywhere else, if I happen to visit Almaty again. 😊
The property is very tidy and clean . All the necessities of a solo traveller are provided meticulously. Special mentioning of Ms. Erina, who is very caring and thoughtful towards every individual guest . I am specifically very thankful to her for her positive and caring attitude with ever smiling.' WE CAN DO ATTITUDE'. I want to tell her, " Please keep it up."

1 bathroom for 10 people 😅 I wish they can separate the bath to toilet, but it’s fine with its price
I like how approachable the staff is, will do everything they can to assist you. The bed is comfy and very clean. This stay gave you a chance to meet and talk to other people

This is a review from my heart and no one really compelled me to give a review Hostel's motto is simple "Be responsible during the stay and Keep everything clean" and that really works! Super clean throughout my stay. I couldn't have asked for a better place for a solo traveller like me and the staff are really helpful. I've got all the amenities that are promised and would highly recommend this place.

The bathroom is occupied in rush hours.
It’s in a very laid back neighborhood and the house is very comfortable! Especially they also serve freshly cooked breakfast at such price! Only the toilet and shower are combined and there’s only one for 10-person dorm ! That’s the pressure!otherwise everything is good! The bed is with curtain to give some privacy and there’re many storage drawers.
