The hotel is listed online as the Ruby Villa Hotel, but it is actually the Ruby Hotel. This caused some issues with the taxi finding the right place. Oh yes, there is a listing online that shows a fake pool photo. The actual pool is a modest rectangular one next to the driveway...bear in mind that this is an inner city residential type location.

The location was excellent. The room was large and had a decent shower. The bed was very firm...but that is good for me. I had room 11, which was probably the best one...it has a balcony overlooking the small pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful...but minimal English. Breakfast was basic, but they cooked eggs to order and offered fresh fruit also. A good effort for a hotel with only 11 rooms.

There was no hot water in shower and most of the time at night there was noise from water pump machine and fans on the roof of the opposite building

Nothing really

Very laid-back accommodations. It's essentially located in the pool is a nice respite from the hot weather. Dat is an excellent host and was very attentive to our needs. This is the second time we stayed at the Vientiane Ruby and we will always put it at the top of the list when we travel to Laos

Breakfast was a bid simple and could have varied more, in particular if you stay for more days. Info on tours and activities have only be very basic. No written material or prospects were available.

The location is very close to the night market and there are a number of temples very close. A bonus is definitely a relative large pool for such a small hotel.

The receptionist sold me a speed train ticket to Luang Prabang which ended up to be a normal slow train and should have cost half the price I paid. To avoid such situation, use app 12go Or go outside the hotel to make the booking

Could be better maintained. A bit noisy, earplugs are recommended. A lot of mosquitos around and they sometimes get into the room.

Good value, central location, nice breakfast with a good variety of options - eggs made to order. The hotel was fine, it was basic and ok for a couple of nights. There's some nice common areas.

Mediocre breakfast. Fresh orange juice and coffee would be an improvement. Likewise if I wouldn't have to ask every day for a bowl for cereals. Muesli would be nice. A shelve in the shower to place soap etc, a bedside light and a power outlet near the desk would be handy

When I arrived, they told me that the room I booked had been given to another guest the previous day. Instead of a room with a garden or pool view, they gave me a room with a view of a wall. In the small space between the wall and my window, a waterpump was happily humming away, producing enough noise to prevent a good sleep. Only after I protested did they give me another room on the higher floor. Mediocre breakfast. A general lack of enthusiasm and attention to detail.

Excellent location, close to the night market, and the terminal stop of the bus from Vieng Vang. Good size rooms.

The interior design felt a bit patchy, with some areas showing signs of quick repair work. The bathroom facilities were awkwardly arranged, making them inconvenient to use, and some items like shampoo or shower gel were empty. Breakfast was very basic.

The male staff was extremely helpful and quickly addressed our concerns about the room facility. Room was spacious. Soft beds. Location was great with a short walk to the night market.

The owner speaks almost no English. The bathrooms smell a lot like sewer. You cannot be sure about what room you get, it’s a gamble if you stay in a nice one on the upper floor or in a dark-damp one downstairs.

The hotel is ok. For the first night, we got a room just next to the lobby and the breakfast room, so everyone walks in front of the door back and forth all the time. The room had no window and it’s been quite damp inside. We asked for a better room and could change the following day. This new room on the upper floor was nice and really upgraded our stay. But throughout the days we witnessed a lot of people arguing with the staff about the dark rooms on the ground floor and some actually left the hotel when they couldn’t change rooms.

No hot water for the whole time I was there... There was a building site next door, so construction work began at 7.30. The walls were also so thin I could hear everything happening next door. Terrible sleep... Room was very dark and the lights did not work.

The breakfast was reasonable and the staff were friendly. The location is good (despite being on a construction sight). The bed was very comfortable.
