A nice view alone doesn't make a four-star hotel. You could say the hotel isn't exactly a scam, but it's definitely misleading. The pictures on Google or Booking look nothing like the reality. Everything is portrayed much nicer than it actually is. The place is worn down and affected by dampness. The rooms are full of moisture. Cracks in the walls, everything peeling. Corners with chipped edges, and the bathroom is moldy. Charging $144 for this is really outrageous. For such a run-down hotel, they even claimed it was only five years old — but that can’t possibly be true. The rooms are actually worse than in a typical hostel. At best, this place deserves one or two stars, and maybe a $50 price tag. The only good thing is the view, but even the location isn’t great. Terrible road to get there, all bumpy, and far away from any other restaurants. The staff tries, but that doesn’t make anything better. So, one star for the view and the pool.”
“Nice hotel. Very good view. Lovely owner and breakfast. It is still being renovated. Rooms in new part are better and modern. I would stay here again.”
“Lovely home stay. We had delicious breakfast every day. Beds are very comfortable and with the fan you can stay cool enough at night. Location is great (to get in to town you can walk up the road then along the rail track as a shortcut- about 15 min walk) a bit further out of town but nice and quiet !
Definitely recommend Matey’s hut for food, and going to the Buddhist Monestary - both spectacular.
Thank you for a wonderful stay🙌”
“I had a wonderful stay at Samadhi Nature Resort. The location is perfect just a short walk to Nine Arches Bridge, Little Adam’s Peak, and other scenic spots in Ella. I loved starting my mornings with their delicious traditional Sri Lankan breakfast fresh, flavorful, and served in such a calm setting. The atmosphere was so relaxing, and after a day of exploring, I even treated myself to an Ayurvedic spa nearby, which was the perfect way to unwind. If you're looking for a peaceful stay close to Ella’s best attractions, this is the place!”
