Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

You feel like you are one with nature, there are animals around you but none come in to the room or balcony so you also feel safe. Gavi was a great host. The view of the bridge from the balcony is hard to beat.

NetherlandsWe liked our stay! It is a bit of jungle here, with monkeys, squirrels and bugs. But the room is very comfortable and has an amazing view on the bridge! The way down is for the more experienced tuktuk driver, they are more than happy to help get you there and back.

SpainA fantastic location down a hidden path with an amazing view of the 9 arch bridge. The staff are so sweet and the breakfast layout amazing. He can come get you by rickshaw if you can't find it. The rustic cabin may not be for some but we loved it.

IrelandThe roof of the property is galvanise so when it rains it can be very loud. Monkeys tend to run across the riff also. We had ear plugs which we would recommend if you are a light sleeper. Otherwise the property is great.
The view of nine arch bridge. Being in the jungle and listening to the animals at night. Our host Gavi was great and provided a Tuk Tuk when we wanted to go to Ella city or other locations. The breakfast was fantastic and served on our balcony overlooking the bridge.

United KingdomNot a dislike...but the roof is tin and the monkeys love to jump on it, maybe take ear plugs as it can scare you out of your sleep lol They want payment in LKR although it advises $ on booking.com
This place was great! The views, the nature, the peace, the breakfast!! I dont think you could be closer to the 9 arch bridge, outside the inn is the path to the bridge and its about 3min walk from there, downhill. Forewarned, I arrived in the evening and it was dark, I would suggest arriving in the daylight as its a little scary otherwise! The roads can only be accessed by tuktuk, they are very steep and you're so in nature my brain couldn't adjust to all the noises without visual clues...but once I seen it all in the daylight, it was amazing, my brain adjusted and I could appreciate all the nature noises. The roads are steep, but doable. Everything (other than bridge) is about 20/30min walk away. There are restaurants about 10/15mins away. I would recommend, it was one of my favourite stays, I enjoyed sitting on my balcony watching the trains come in, watching the monkeys or squirrels..enjoy! Shower was good and hot, the WIFI was also good (router in room!)

United KingdomThese things didn’t really bother us but are worth mentioning Quite far outside of the city in a very steep hill. Some elder people or people that have limited walking ability will struggle. Lots of noise at night from the wildlife including monkeys fighting on the roof lol!
It was a really cool setting for the room and the balcony overlooked the infamous 9 arch bridge. Gavi was really helpful and helped arranged pickup from the station and shuttles into town using whatsapp. Room had a fan and a mosquito net. Very big breakfast served at our time of choice each morning.

ArgentinaAmazing View of the 9 arches bridge. In addition to this, the breakfast was AMAZING. Also the guy who manages the place is more than helpful. Take into the consideration he can pick up and dropp you off when going and leaving the hotel as the place is a bit remote and not so easy to access but the environment deserves the effort. I have only one night in Ella so this place was very convenient to explore the bridge early in the morning without much people and also to see the train passing by in different times of the day.

GermanyThe shower does not have so much water pressure. But this is complaning at a high level. Because you are staying in the jungle there are of course a lot mosquitoes and it can be a little bit noisy during the night. Nevertheless, that was not a problem for us at all.
If you want to stay a little bit outside of Ella and close to the Nine Arches Bridge (~5min) you should go to Nine Arch Jungle Inn. Even the little Adams Peak can be reached by foot (~45 Minutes). You will get served an excellent breakfast on the balkony with an amazing view of the Nine Arch Bridge. Also the host Gavi is very nice. He picked us up at the train station and took us to Ella for free at the end of our stay.

Sri LankaI advise closing the windows at night, lots of moths attracted to light around Ella and wear socks when it rains!
Gavi was amazing. He offered us lifts into town and was always responsive to messages. Even more, I left a bag and he did everything he could to get it back to me at the beach down south. So appreciative and would come back again :)
