United KingdomNothing to not like but as with lots of accommodation in Sri Lanka, no kettle or fridge. That said, we got coffee whenever we asked and offered it when we didn't 👍 We even stored our beers in their family fridge . So what's not to like.

Czech RepublicYou will hear everything during day - road, steps, voices. Fortunately there is silence at night, so it is sleepable. There is a big humidity and you can smell mold in the room.
Whole family was very nice to us. Delicious and big breakfast. A/C on the room and very clean space. Nice placement of the house. It is across the road from the beach. About 1 minute to get there.

MalaysiaWith some improvements to the following I could recommend to stay- Comfort- No hot water which made showering unpleasant. I stayed at cheaper homestays and they all had hot water heaters thus I was surprised when it was not offered here. The mosquito net does not reach the floor and due to the style of the bed frame it was difficult to tuck in- we got bitten at night. A bigger sheet would improve the comfort. Facilities- The rooms on the bottom level do not get much daylight. Someplace to put your things besides the towel rack would be great, simple fix -some place to place your suitcase like a bench for example and a row of hooks on the wall. Advertised on booking.com are in-house yoga classes but there is no yoga place or spa on site. Value for money- After staying at several homestays and hotels in Sri Lanka close to a beach, it is my opinion that in comparison for what is offered the price is too high. Location- Disclaimer- I am a sensitive sleeper and the noise from the main road and neighbour dog barking disturbed my sleep. The path leading up the hill to the house is uneven terrain and you need to walk to the main road to main road to catch a tuktuk or taxi.
We had a fan room at the front downstairs and another fan room at the very back upstairs. Both clean and smelled fine. In comparison the upstairs room better for daylight and airflow. Staff- Family is friendly and helpful to book taxi and tuk tuks (english is limited though) Cleanliness- Rooms and bathrooms are very clean. Location- Great location across the street from the beach. The section of the beach the homestay is closest to is really great for kids to play in the sand and a small pool of sea protected from the waves by the reef. Request the Sri Lankan breakfast which was pretty good, the western breakfast was too basic. I liked the tea was served in nice tea sets.
