Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe hotel is not as boutique or as posh as others on this beach, but also not as expensive.
Beautiful quiet location. Nice pool. Rooms adequate with great air con Amazing to watch the wild life including crocodiles in the river. Staff were great and helped me to sort out a lost package. We didn't have food so can't comment on quality. There are a couple of nice, relatively cheap restaurants nearby but not much else. A wonderful break from our busy travels.

Sri LankaNeed further attention in many aspects. Our room had no soap or body wash and AC was not working properly. It took 1hr 30 minutes for them to change our room to a new one. Meals and staff is good and helpful. Nights are almost dead and need to improve with entertainments.

ItalyWe spent two nights at this resort. Our room was very beautiful and clean, with an extremely spacious bathroom. The resort offers a splendid pool and a beautiful private beach. The presence of few tourists contributed to creating a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. Both breakfast and dinner featured high-quality traditional dishes. The staff was always kind and helpful. A special mention goes to Samante, the restaurant manager, who treated us with great courtesy and attention.

BulgariaBreakfast was mostly rice and curries despite the majority of foreigners in the hotel, lack of diversity, every morning it would be the same thing, not enough options for foreigners. Hotel had only around 20 sunbeds for the whole resort, most of them were broken and usually unavailable since the hotel personell would encourage the guests to throw their towels very early in the morning if they wanted to suntan at all. We would wake up at 7 am and the sunbeds would be mostly gone since people would wake up at 5 am to throw a towel and leave the chair empty for most of the day. Very unpleasant experience, couldn't rest at all since we wanted to lay by the beach and we had to get up super early all the time and even that wouldn't help. Better pay 100-200 dollars more and stay at one of the nearby resorts, their buffets were better and way more diverse and they always had plenty of available sunbeds.
Room was quite spacious and clean, we had a nice beach front view.

SerbiaEverything is ok, but there is nothing so special about it. The service was a bit slow, and the food was a little bit expensive compared to other places in Sri Lanka.
The pool. It is definitely the selling point for this place. The room is quite spacious, and the bathroom too.

SlovakiaThe food in restaurant is really not ok for 4star hotel. Breakfast is Good But with a small variety of food. Every day the same meals. Ala carte menu is ok, But one of the most expensive one in the whole area. And we really tried all hotels in the area. There is missing buffet during lunch and dinner, offering just set menu, what was really disaster. Not a Good taste, small portions. There is no possibility to eat some finger food at the beach or have some drinks there. It is not enough sunbeds. Nothing to sit and have drink or something. Most amenities (pool bar, beach bar) all were closed.
The hotel has: Perfect location Perfect beach Beautiful views Good swimmingpool Spacious and very tidy rooms and spacious and nice bathrooms what is Great Also there is river where crocodiles can be seen Staff is trying to clean everything - rooms, garden, beach Security at the beach is number one . They are doing a Great job !!!

United KingdomThe wifi stopped working after the first night, I had random men knocking on my door at around 10pm, and the bed was 2 single beds pushed together so there was a gap in the middle. Food at the restaurant was expensive and with little to no other option around it, forces guests to eat there and spend a lot of money.
The pool was nice.

Sri LankaIt was a horrible breakfast with bread that was a few days old. The curries were tasteless, and the fish was of poor quality, though the area had a plentiful supply of fresh fish.

IndiaOld beddings, torn sheets, cockroach in the room, lack of decent room service are some issues. For instance, if you call housekeeping in the evening they will tell you to get a thorough job done in the morning which is when apparently they have all the staff. This is not something they inform you when you check in. When you do call them in the day, the person will not pick trash, empty bottles, clean under tables or bed, make the bed, change sheets. The bar was nearly empty most nights. When we went to have a few drinks we were handed the bill after the first round and the bartender left us alone. We were not asked if we were done or we wanted another round. By the end of our time of four days it became obvious to us that this treatment was not given to white tourists who received attention and prompt service.
The property faces the beach, and the location is great. The acreage is wide and a small riverine runs through it which makes it charming. The slightly colonial style facade of most buildings is pretty. The pool is well maintained.

Property was amazing, very clean and brilliant air con system, great shower with hot water. A river runs through the resort with 15 crocodiles in it and on arrival there was a baby crocodile down at the river. We received a welcome drink on arrival which was delicious and staff insisted on taking our bags to our room. Brilliant pool which was very clean and had a bar. Properties are right on the beach with a stunning view. The food was nice and the large restaurant area was very clean.

ThailandThe warmth and responsiveness of staff. Professionalism was lacking. Eg: My room didn't have the safe locker, and as a result one of us had to skip sea bath and stay back. When I told this to the reception in a soft but complaining way, the reaction was not professional. It was " Sit, I will get one". No Sorry or a pleasant note. However, I should say that it was done. Restaurant staff were very nice but the food quality wasn't great. I stayed in this place a few years ago and since then things have deteriorated.
Beach was good. Good location. Infrastructure was good and the amenities and facilities were reasonable.

Sri LankaWhen we checked-in to the hotel room, the bedsheet had stains and I had to request the staff to change the sheets. Their was no hair dryer in the room. The breakfast buffet needs improvement, as it lacks variety in the usual Sri Lankan and continental options. Aitken Spence Hotels claims to prioritize sustainability, according to their website. However, they fall short of basic environmental practices. For instance, they provide plastic water bottles in the rooms instead of glass ones, and the toiletries are also plastic. The hotel also organized a snorkeling tour and the guides were great. However, they were feeding biscuits to the coral reef fish and when we asked them to stop, they didn't listen. If this is daily practice, it has a negative impact on the coral reefs and fish. It would be good to provide these guides with proper education and training on protecting the environment.
The resort is located on the stretch of the Passikuda beach. William, who was in the front office is super kind and friendly!
