United KingdomOur only comment would be wait for food when ordered from the a la carte menu or room service. Buffet is obviously instant and hot beverages came quickly with breakfast. But if ordering off a menu, the food took a long time to arrive (talking an hour!) Spa needs updating. Also better signage. Otherwise lovely.

Saudi ArabiaThe service was slow and not good promotion for the place. It has great potential to be the best. But not many selection to pick in menu or drinks. Very limited of choices. And they play the same music in the resutrants in all meal courses. And expensive for limited food choice and not great quality. And there wasn't many guests like only 3 guests in big hotel. And other hotels have many guests.
The location and the designs are good and the cleaning staff were good. It had good hotels nearby to try other food buffets which I highly suggest to visit other resort beaches nearby.

IrelandWe were there in March and were told it was off season. So most of the restaurants and bars were closed and we were limited to one temporary eating area. There were very few other people at the resort, less than 10, so the resort was pretty dead after 8pm. Would like to go again when its fully open
The resort was beautiful and we had a fantastic room upgrade that was beside the pool with great views. Everyone at the resort were top class and couldn't have been more helpful.

United KingdomThe food selections is fine, but somewhat limited in choices. Some days we were told that a certain item had simply run out, or not available which was disappointing. The staff are perhaps a bit ‘too keen’ at clearing plates as soon as one has finished eating.
The property is out of this world, one of the most amazing hotels I have ever stayed in. The swimming pool is to die for, grounds beautiful and the beach amazing too. The property is surrounded by beautiful trees and palms, the rooms spacious and comfortable.

United KingdomFrom the build and design, this was clearly once a 5 star hotel, however no longer in my opinion. Rooms were tired and some areas were very grubby, eg the showers had mould around the floor edges, old toothpaste marks on the walls near the washbasins. We found cockroaches in both rooms. Reception staff's English was negligible and service slow, needing to involve several people to settle a bill for example. They insisted we pay for our rooms on arrival rather than settle at the end - no one knew why. Staff were lovely but need 5 star training - whipping plates away from tables almost before we'd finished our food, knocking on our door at 10pm because they had forgotten to get us to sign for something. We were upset to see a security guard beating a dog lying in the grounds with a stick. Breakfast was disappointing and the food generally very expensive and mediocre. We ended up eating at the other hotels along the beach. Wooden sunbeds had broken slats and the cushions are old and stained, although the beach towels were all freshly laundered. Some areas inside the grounds felt neglected. Laminated paper signs were stuck up around the hotel, which felt cheap. Cushions in the reception area were covered in transparent plastic which cheapened the otherwise impressive reception area. This could be a 5 star hotel again, but in my opinion would require hefty investment to make it so.
Amazing location right on the beautiful Passikuda Beach, which was super clean. The staff were friendly and eager to please. It felt very safe.

For our second visit to Passikudah we chose Anantaya Resort and we couldn't have chosen better. From the first moment to the end we were looked after by the friendly staff, especially Rishopana and Kanogitha. We booked this resort for a room with direct access to the pool and we were lucky to get perhaps the nicest room. But what makes this resort special is the people who work here. We also spoke with the friendly beach/pool attendant S. and likewise the waiters and cooks at breakfast and dinner did everything they could to make the guests happy. Excellent Sri Lankan breakfast and dinner. My husband was delighted that the waiters here could spin a beer with a foam cap. The room was very nice and clean. The pool was cleaned regularly too. Free sunbeds on the beach. Beautiful beach and walks. If we had not booked another stay before, we would have stayed longer. We will definitely be back here soon!
