The hotel should invest in some proper sun beds and beach umbrellas, the furniture they have is not well maintained and it’s broken by the street dogs and crows. It’s too hot and sunny to be at the beach without an umbrella. However, the beach is absolutely amazing and we highly recommend it.

The location is excellent if you like beachfront. Great beach just in front of the hotel, really amazing beach!. PADI shop just a minute away. The food is also tasty even though it takes a while to get it after you order but it’s understandable as there’s only one person in the kitchen.

the equipment near the sea a little outdated but it's probably due to the low season. We still enjoyed the beach

the location not far from the fort and the town allowed us to visit the town of trincomalee. Despite the low season we were very well received by augusta who prepared a very good breakfast for us and advised us for our outings. thank you for the welcome, I highly recommend this hotel.

We really liked this stay. We really fell in love with this place. JUST meet Lisa and try to taste her dinner-it was incredible!!! Really the best culinary experience ever! The host was very kind, communicative, very good vibe energy comes to our heart. We decided to extend our trip for one more night because of good vibes, good scenery and calm our minds.. Thank you for our stay and one of the most beautiful experience in SriLanka.

Liza is exceptional host and the food for breakfast is realy nice. The location is on the beach, but far from the vibrant part of Trinco. We enjoyed here but decided to switch for the hotel in Uppaweli part of Trinco.

We had an amazing stay, the only thing I would recommend to the property is trying if possible to take into account the Sri Lankan stray dogs that wander in the beach area to ensure that they don’t hang out too much in the sun lounge area, which might be not quite easy to do.

Lisa is the soul of this place - so definitely don’t miss out on staying there. It is a small boutique hotel with an amazing location - right on a gorgeous turquoise beach with sunbeds, relaxing vibe and high speed wife. Lisa serves an amazing breakfast selection and great coffee - take your time and enjoy a slow morning. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Breakfast was amazing, just we apparently came in little late and limited refills provided (due to curfew/lockdown of shops probably have to say).

Nicely located at Dutch Bay (which was convenient for us but turned out to be a nice bay as well). Decent rooms and the atmosphere is relaxed. We felt Lisa was onour side making some arrangements for us with regards to a tour!

We were contacted by Lisa the owner before our stay and given instructions etc on how to get there and what time to check in etc. When we arrived we were greeted very warmly and Lisa went through each and every thing herself with us and explained the hotels policies and breakfast times. We booked with her for the snorkeling trip to Pigeon Island the next morning which was around £11 each and then the whale and dolphin watching the following morning which was around £11 total. Lisa explained she does not make any commission from these trips she just helps out the local boats. The hotel is run in a sustainable way which is great - one great positive is the free glass water bottles which you just take out of the fridge and then put the empties back by the side - a move to reduce plastic which being on the beach is a great idea. We really enjoyed our stay at Angels and wouldn't hesitate to book again :)

Everything! The location was superb, accommodation located directly on the beach with an amazing view to the sea! Lisa was super kind and helpful, we were offered with the smile and a welcome fresh juice, which was so nice to have :) Clean rooms and loved the sustainability policy! Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. The stay was amazing, we had dinner in the hotel, which we strongly recommend, the fish we had was an absolute blast of amazing taste! Very recommended!

The staff meant well. Run by some young lads . However, the service was a bit haphazard. They really need to inform customers that water is free, the internet which wasn’t working for 2 days is because each floor has a different password for the router. How am I supposed to know this if you don’t tell me?? Also the toilet in the lobby needs a lightbulb and a door that locks. So that a member of staff who is using it is not disturbed by patrons!

The boutique hotel is charming and right on the beach. It was clean and the room lovely.

Security of room, locks do not inspire but more importantly the front bedrooms have a balcony adjacent, which has the key in the lock, off which is the bathroom window which can only be open (no lock on it or alternative ventilation) so anyone could climb in. Rooms 102 201 etc. Beds are literally concrete slabs with a 4 inch foam mattress, they are not terrible but not comfortable. Slept poorly, the curtains provide zero blackout being net curtains and then at 5.30am there was a Hindu procession past the hotel with banging drums etc.

Needs a bit of TLC in the rooms - paint on the wood is chipping, fixed bedside table nearly falling off the wall. Breakfast was not inc and overpriced for what it is with minimal selection.

Decent stay for Trincomalee; the rooms are bright and have most things needed for a short stay. The staff are the best part - very friendly and welcoming. Location is in a quieter part of the town.

The hotel was very small, limioted bar/restuarant, with limited food and beverage choice. Only beer,not other drinks!

Uppuveli beach is a nicer beach/environment than the one in Trincomalee.
