It is like a small oasis where you can just chill and switch off from everything. It is a beautiful property, located straight at the beach with amazing view of waves all around you and direct access to the beach. Best location and setup in the area for sure. I stayed in a dorm room which was comfortable with our own bathroom + outside bathrooms. Outside a lot of chilling space. Staff was very professional, respectful and friendly. I ordered all my meals there and they were all great. Great value for the price.

Nothing! We paid £3 per person, per night, honestly would’ve paid a lot more for it as it was incredible!

Great staff and great beach location! We booked a cabana and it was literally a beach hut with a bed and fan, it was so perfect for us. Nice chilled music until about 10pm on a Saturday, great food and cheap beers to match. We spent most days chilling on the sun beds and taking advantage of the cheap beers. Really chilled vibe with nice staff.

Good and friendly staff. We stay at tree house is has only bed , better have small table and chair . And no fan also . Washrooms are not clean. The place is so amazing but with the facilities and poor maintenance value get loose.

Well, my daughter, who shared with me, was uncomfortable with the fact that there was no bathroom door. This is better suited for couples. Maybe that can be mentioned ( forgive me if I missed if it was ), or maybe the management can add a drop down tat or even a curtain in case anyone prefers privacy. I get the reasoning behind not having the traditional door as it would not suit the aesthetic.

It was right on the beach.it was like having our own private villa. The staff were exceptionally nice, the dogs so adorable, place clean and safe. The food was fantastic too and was in all honesty the highlight for me.

The room you stay in is, as its name suggests, a shack. The edges of the ceilings are open. You need to think of it like a tent camp. There are many insects and flies due to the opening. After the first night, we asked for a mosquito net and they brought it immediately. I just think it should be known. Also, the sheets and bed were not very clean.

Right by the sea, ideal for relaxing with the sounds of the waves. The employees are very sweet. A place where you can hang out like it's your own place. Price performance balance is good.

Just such a cool vibe at this place. I stayed in the little cottage and really enjoyed it, everything is a little wet and sandy of course but that’s just the beach for you. They also have extremely delicious food and cocktails.

"Bara Beach" is not a hostel. Okay, maybe at the beginning - when you don't know the atmosphere of this place yet and you haven't met the people who create this place. Later, it becomes a bit of your home, a bit of a place where you want to come back and create with them. You want to watch the sunset there and pick up trash on the beach. You want to go jogging with the dogs and then eat rice and curry while watching the waves in the ocean, which are always too strong. I recommend this place to absolutely everyone! Unless you don't like great people and the sound of the ocean 24/7 - your choice :)

the waves were really high (in march/april at least) so it was not so funny to swim there. i had very much sand in my swimwear in the end and i do not recommend that. there was plenty of sand also on the floor in our room when we arrived. it was a very sandy stay overall. our rooms furniture was very sporadic, with literally only a bed and a net to hold back the mosqitos. we would have liked a nightstand or something like that. the showers and toilets were shared with the other visitors but that was ok.

the food and juices are very good, altough a bit pricy (but its a touristy place so it was expected). we were in room number one and it was great! it is for real directly at the beach. there are two big windows with sea view and you can hear the waves when you go to sleep. the bar and everything was very chill. you can also work from there on your laptop if you need to. the rooms had funny names, the vibe was great :)

Everything was great!

The hosts were wonderful, always happy to help or assist. Food, especially breakfasts, were really tasty. The atmosphere is wonderful, with a nice chill music in the background. Our kid loved it too. Extremely positive and amazing looking spot - best memories from Sri Lanka!

More a few things to be aware of … It isn’t a touristy spot (we liked it that way) but there wasn’t many options to eat out of the bar. We didn’t have a curtain in our treehouse room so it meant we were awake with the sun at 6am. The other 2 seemed to have curtains so it was very confusing. We also didn’t have any sheet or blanket to sleep under - I slept under my towel. Again from peeking at other rooms they seemed to so maybe we were unlucky? Also it’s really hard to have two people stay as there is no way to shut the door while your partner may want to come back in as it is a padlocked room … I went for a nap in the afternoon and had to lock my partner out so I could shut the door.

Location is totally beautiful and quiet - we loved the sunbeds overlooking the beach. The beach is a great spot. Staff all very friendly. The food was good. Would come back
