Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe didn’t realise that the property was a little remote, which meant finding a place for dinner other than the property wasn’t really an option. As a result, we ate at the property, but we weren’t informed of the cost and at the end of the stay we weren’t informed the breakdown of costs, only told the total. As we also did the farm tour, it made me wonder what was and wasn’t charged.
Beautiful location in a farm, surrounded by banana trees. I appreciated that Pradeep and the staff took the time to talk to and engage with every guest.

NetherlandsI had the best time here, and I wish I could’ve stayed longer! The team was soooo sweet and helpful with any questions, and everything (services and facilities) were 10/10. I was lucky to be the first to try out the new swimming pool!! My room was clean and comfortable, the area green, lush, and quiet, and the people super friendly. Highly recommend this as a unique stay in Sri Lanka

What’s not to like? Everything was amazing, Pradeep and his family are the best and happiest hosts you could think of. Definitely recommend going there! Bonus; the swimming pool is almost ready! But even without, you’ll have an amazing time, it’s the perfect place to relax.

NetherlandsWe were warmly welcomed here. The staff was amazing. The sunset walk organized by the hotel and the evening surprise will always stay with us! The room was fantastic (we had the upgrade room with the open bathroom). Delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinners. Fantastic people, fantastic views. This was one of the best stays in Sri Lanka!

NetherlandsIt felt less authentic and more staged than expected, clearly tailored to tourism. We stayed in one of the older, more budget-friendly rooms, which was unfortunately not very clean.
A truly special experience getting a glimpse into village life in Sri Lanka. The people are incredibly friendly, and the food is absolutely amazing. Everything is homemade by the mother of the family, using almost exclusively fresh ingredients from their own land. We also had a tour where we learned about the different crops and what it’s like to be a farmer in Sri Lanka.

SwitzerlandExceptional location in the middle of nature! If you are looking for authentic, relaxed, and (family-) friendly enviorment with traditional home cooked food (no western Menu), then this is the right place to stay! Rooms are clean and the bed are comfortable. Don't overplan your stay here because the guesthouse needs to be enjoyed. There is a small river in front of the house to cool down, two short but very interesting walking tours a day (for free). The owner and his team are so nice and helpful with everything. Doesn't matter if you need transport, laundy or a tour. Thank you for your hospitality! We would definitely stay here again.

NetherlandsLeaving.
Absolutely amazing! Pradeep and his family are so welcoming on their fantastic farm. The homemade food is amazing thanks to Pradeeps mom who cooks every night and most of it comes straight from their farm. Pradeeps attitude towards life is endearing. I believe if everybody would be a little more like Pradeep the whole world would be in a lot better state. We will definitely come back to see how Thea has grown!

SwitzerlandAll the staff was very friendly and made sure that we could start our vacation perfectly. Would definitely recommend the tour of the farm. They have so much knowledge of all the different plants and their benefits. The owner was so amazing and told us lots of stuff about sri lanka and its culture. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to stay there instead of dambulla city.

Netherlands-
Amazing friendly staff members who told us a lot about the village/Sri Lanka life/fruits and herbs on their farm. We had a room in the new building which we highly recommend: super high ceiling and windows with a beautiful view on the garden. The food was one of the best meals we had in Sri Lanka and you can go on a nice walk through the villages and rice fields. We were there for one night, however the location is so peaceful and relaxed and beautiful that we could have easily stayed for two nights. Highly recommend this place!

NetherlandsIf you want to get away from the more touristy stuff and see some of authentic Sri Lankan life, this is the perfect place to visit! Would definitely recommend to walk around the area of the homestay to enjoy the beautiful rice fields and to get a grasp of the local way of living. Also, the garden tour is amazing! The rooms in the ‘newer’ section are amazing! Very modern and clean, with a good view. Besides that, the staff is super friendly. Happy to help you with any questions and to tell you more about Sri Lanka’s culture. And the home-cooked dinner was delish! :) We definitely came to rest here! Thanks!

PolandWe missed basic kettle and cutlery in the room. It is pretty pricey.
The location is stunning if you are looking for a real village. The owners possess a piece of land where they cultivate a big varierity of species. You may see banana plantation, Coconuts, mango trees, avocado trees, cinamon trees, lemon grass, curry leaves, curcuma, and many others. The room was spacious, great disigned, clean with big windows with the rice fields view. They offer organic food from their garden and it is delicious.

PolandEverything was perfect
The place is located in the jungle, surrounded by beautiful nature. It is the best place to experience the real life of Sri Lankan people. Pradeep, the owner, is a great, friendly, and very helpful person. The rest of the staff is always smiling and ready to help. We arrived in Colombo at 2 am, and Pradeep helped arrange a taxi transfer from the airport to our hotel. The whole staff woke up early to greet us, and we were immediately offered drinks, food, and water. The breakfasts and dinners were truly excellent, prepared by Pradeep's mother using products from their farm, grown organically, which was evident in the taste. The rooms are of a high standard; we didn't encounter any issues commonly found in this region (cold water, insects in the room). Pradeep organized a farm tour for us, where we were shown all the plants that grow on his farm. Pradeep helped us order tuk-tuks whenever we needed them. He also helped us organize a trip to Polonnaruwa and a safari in Hurulu Eco Park, where we had a chance to see herds of elephants. We stayed for 3 nights, but it was definitely not enough. I would say this place is a must-visit when you come to Sri Lanka. I am sure you will love it! We arrived as strangers, but left as friends.
