Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Perfect for our first night in Sri Lanka. Room was quite basic, but that was all we needed. Hotel turned around some laundry for us promptly too, which we were grateful for.

Located near Pettah Market. Close to the railway station. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Spacious rooms and a relatively quite neighborhood. Recommended for travelers with childern.

The decoration and overall layout/atmosphere was not very warm. There was no breakfast.

Overall our stay was fine. One of the staff members (the guy who checked us in) is very nice and very helpful. The others are a bit more nonchalant. However, if you forget something in your room it will be a huge hassle for you to get the hotel to help you with this. They respond and then they just don't get back to you. It is apparently very difficult for them to 1. Find the items that you have clearly described where are and 2. Follow up 3. Send the items (a bikini & a shirt) to a different location in Sri Lanka (which I have mentioned to them that I will pay for and even pay a service charge if they do this for me) The lack of communication and help from them is very frustrating.

Tuk tuk are Parked at the entrance of the hotel be warned that the fare is 10$/hour if you go for a tour(mine lasted 6h). Also be aware that between the visits the driver will bring you to a jewelery then to a SPA(50$/hour) then to a tea shop (40$ box of white tea) and finally to a local restaurant for lunch with a special price for tourists (10$). Better to use Pickme or Uber

The hotel is well placed to be able to walk to Galle Face Green, the Dutch Hospital, Pettah market etc. It was clean and comfortable and although we didn’t spend much time there as we were only in Colombo for 1 night, we were very happy with the accommodation and the experience. The staff were friendly and they arranged a very reasonable taxi to the airport for us early in the morning which was really helpful.

On top of the hotel, there is a Ventilation System which is really Loud in the morning. So if you are sensitive to Noise, you should avoid the private Room with a bathroom unser the roof.
Very central, close to Colombo Fort Train Station. Got a room upgrade for free. Very nice and comfortable room. Friendly staff.

No lock for bedroom key for dorm ( although there was a good storage locker, bring your own lock)

No initiative to connect guests with each other but I guess most are just passing through, although equipped the kitchen was quite dirty, bathroom was not the cleanest either but it was okay

We stayed here on our first and last night in Sri Lanka. The place is nice and quite big, location is very good - close to train station, restaurants and cafes. Staff is friendly and helpful.

The room was unreasonably cold (AC on, 17 degrees C) and some of the lockers were broken or even missing in the room. The AC condensation water was running on the floor.
The location was ideal for me, the room was clean, the bed is comfortable, the sheets were nice and clean. The kitchen is very basic, but available. The showers were a bit run down but OK.
