Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The beds were pretty solid.
The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. They kindly did some laundry for us as well which was returned clean (a bit pricey though). The hotel is up a very steep slope which our tuk tuk couldn’t make it up so we had to walk the last part. This is not the hotels fault, just something to be aware of.

Great place! The rooms are great and comfortable. Amazing views from the dinning area. Very close to the main street. The hosts were very nice and helpful! Great value for money.

It is located in the heart of Ella city center but still away from the main streets. The owner of the accommodation was very helpful and arranged transportation for Ella and Marissa. The rooms are clean and functional. A good place if you have limited expectations.

The host was excellent during our stay. She provided many services including taxis, cooking class and laundry. The hotel is close to the main street of Ella, it takes 5 minutes to get there. The room was clean enough.

The hospitality of the owner Praveen and his wife was truly wonderful. They helped me plan my day, checked in on me frequently, and provided me with a comfortable stay. Best of all, when I had trouble finding transportation, the owner kindly provided me with a cheap taxi. That was a huge help.

The hosts Ama and Praveen were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed chatting with them. The accommodation was spacious and the bathroom was clean. The breakfast was delicious! The hotel location is perfect - a five minute walk from the city, but away from the noise. We highly recommend this place!

Perfect location, close to the train station, but very central, cozy place. Very well equipped rooms, very good food, made with love. The best part is the staff, Praveen. He helps with everything. If you need advice (tours, restaurants, spa) ask him. It was a pleasant stay, very convenient! Thanks for everything

The staff were amazing. They organised a honeymoon reception and couldn't have been more helpful. They even arranged transport, tuk tuk and taxi to our next destination. It's close to Ella town, but it's tucked away. A very peaceful place to stay.

They were so kind to us. The view from the dining room is beautiful. We had a very good local breakfast, which changed every day. It feels like you are staying with family. There are only 3 rooms so it is very quiet. They even rented a car for us to go to Mirissa at a reasonable price and stopped at the waterfalls.

The hosts were very nice and welcoming. We had a very generous breakfast of omelettes, toast, bananas, a Sri Lankan treat and a pot of tea. The property is close enough to town (you can see the train pulling into Ella station) but not too noisy to sleep. Like most properties in town, the road is steep so may be a problem for some people. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Also, like most places in Ella, the water pressure was a bit low but we still had a good shower. The property hosts were very affordable. We felt lucky to have found this place. We were also given cooking classes.

The staff, including Praveen, served delicious breakfast and provided prompt responses to our messages. They also provided low-cost transport to Arugambe and washed our clothes after rain. Their friendly and efficient service exceeded our expectations.

The location is great, right in the middle of the city, making it incredibly convenient for exploring. The hotel itself is beautifully designed and offers all the amenities one could ask for. From the comfortable rooms to the outstanding breakfast, I felt truly pampered. However, what really sets this place apart is the exceptional staff. They were not only attentive, but went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. Their warm hospitality made me feel right at home. I can truly recommend this hotel and hope to return soon.
