Great location short walk from the beach and easy access to Colombo by train or bus. Staff super helpful and friendly. We had an en-suite room which was large and clean. Whilst travelling as a couple seemed a really good choice for single travellers. Plenty of shared space to mix or find quiet and a pool…..

You can only use the AC late at night until early morning (which I completely understand) although when I did ask to pop it in early one evening they said yes.

Excellent location just a few minutes walk to the beach. Shared use of kitchen. The staff provide an evening family meal for free. You can purchase food and drinks. AC Rooms cleaned daily.

The matras was a bit uncomfortable (sagged).

Very social hostel at a good location just 5 min walk to the beach. A good first stop to start your travels, as you will def meet other travellers going the same direction. Good and warm shower. There’s free water and tea/ coffee, a fridge and you can use the kitchen to cook breakfast. There’s free dinner included (vegan curry and rice).

The place is really nice and the staff too... close to mount lavinia beach and you can enjoy a super sunset if its not raining. Location is perfect as it is just 05 min walking distance from Galle road. A perfect place to meet new friends. staff is very supportive and caring. it has a nice hostel vibe in the evening which i couldnt be a part bcz of my schedules :( This is my 3rd time staying in this hostel and I ll keep choosing this hostel in future as well.

The regular maintenance and cleanliness could have been a little better.

The warm hosts, the variety of guests, the nice discussion and interaction areas at the entrance and terrace, all contributed to a very happy stay!

The rooms, admittedly similar to many hostels lacked air conditioning which was tough. Also there was some building work going on at the hostel while we were there that started quite early.

If you’re looking to come to Colombo and socialise with some great young people then this is the best place to stay hands down. Great people, friendly staff, nice pool and good location to some of the nicest places on the beach nearby.

Colombo Beach Hostel provides an excellent stay with its friendly staff, spacious and comfortable rooms, and a beautiful terrace perfect for relaxation. Its prime location, just a 3-minute walk from Lavinia Beach and close proximity to both train and bus stations, makes it ideal for easy city access. Highly recommended for a delightful beachside getaway.

The room and washroom could have been more cleaner.The A/C in the dorm was not enough to keep it cool.

The staff was really pleasant and helpful.Sabeena,Lochana and Dushanty are great humans.They helped us a lot to plan a trip in Colombo.The pool was good.The food they served was yummy.

Wi-Fi doesn't work on the 1st floor and top floor. Hot water flow in bathroom could be increased.

Location is good, staff is courteous and prompt. Rooms and bathrooms were clean. They had dining options but I didn't eat there but the menu was good and seems value for money.

It was so chill, relaxing and comfortable. The staff were so friendly and very helpful! Great spaces to hang out in as well. I loved that they had coffee and food if you felt like eating in, also the location to the beach is perfect.
