Breakfast could be better, very basic. Bathroom could use renovation but for Sri Lanka is okay. Problem sometimes with hot water but this is as well everywhere in Sri Lanka. Payment avalaible only with cash.

We stayed in room one with a large shady balcony, perfect for relaxing or enjoying the tasty breakfast out of the sun, for 3 nights. It has a great view. The family who run the guesthouse are friendly and helpful. We really appreciated the tea and biscuits which were brought up to us in the afternoons! The room is clean and comfortable. The bathroom is ok and there is some hot water. We loved being quiet out of the hustle and bustle of the main part of Ella. It is easy to walk, using a short cut along the railway line, or take a tuk tuk there if you want, though.

The room is very basic (no kettle etc) but for the price this is no problem. There was a bit of damp in the room but again for the price this was not an issue.

Amazing location and view. The family are incredible and helped us with booking tuk tuk throughout our stay. The breakfast is also delicious and they made it for us at the time of our choice each morning. WiFi is also very strong and you will get to see a lot of monkeys.

Bathrooms need refresh, for someone it might be a problem - low pressure of water and water is rather cold, for us it wasn’t a big issue, but good to know.

View, owner and his family (especially his father!), breakfasts, nature around, atmosphere. Really, meeting such great people isn’t obvious, I was surprised how good I felt in Different view! We miss this place since we left it :) Way to the hotel is in the mountains, so you need to go uphill, nice walk from the city center. If you like to walk, listen to nature’s concerts and beautiful views, highly recommended! You can get taxi (we did so) or tuk tuk to get your luggage.

This is a lovely home stay large clean room with comfortable bed. Nice breakfast on the balcony with great view. Quiet location 15 minute walk from Ella but owner has own tut tut if you prefer. Great hosts for home nothing is too much trouble

Some things to improve: - At times, the bathroom had a sewerage smell. - The floor of the whole bathroom was wet after we showered. It would be useful to clean the floor and/or replace the bath mat each day. - The host should taste the fruit before serving it at breakfast. Our pineapple was perfect, but the watermelon tasted off.

What we liked: - The owner and his family were very kind and welcoming, particularly after our previous host cancelled last minute. - The view from the property of Little Adam’s Peak is beautiful. - The owner’s father has a tuk tuk and can drive you in and out of town. He even dropped us into the town at 4:30am!

The room was to small and packed for our liking. Hooks for clothes are missing so that you have to be innovative where to put clothes and other stuff. If you travel with trolley it could be difficult so find space. There is just the door to the room to get air in the room. With all the animals around - especially monkeys - you have to be careful that they don’t enter during night. No AC and there was unfortunately there was little to no hot water, but that is typical for the Highlands because many owners us solar energy to heat the water.

The bed was very comfortable and the mosquito net was a plus. We felt save underneath it :) The breakfast was always delicious. Fruit, egg, some traditional Lankan pancakes. You will have a wonderful start in your days. Nalaka and his family are so caring and friendly. We had some good chats with Nalaka and his father drove us to the waterfalls. Nalaka is always approachable and organizes transports or TukTuks for reasonable prices.

The location out of town was quiet and beautiful. Nalaka and his family went out of their way to help us and make us welcome, including cooking a meal when we arrived quite late and didn’t fancy going into town to eat. He arranged transportation and was always on hand to answer questions.

My honest opinion. Getting to the property and then visiting town is challenging. Only property’s tuk tuk is available to get to the city. Don’t bring your car as the road is very narrow. Too many stairs to get to your room so if you’re old then very challenging. Stair steps are of variable height so be careful. The first room has the biggest patio but the least view. If you are looking for fancy place with a view then this is not the place for you. We booked for two nights but ended up staying for one night but because of no cancellation option, paid for two nights. Family is very caring though.

Amazing view, super nice owners and walking distance into Ella town. Nalaka and his family were absolutely kind and welcoming with delicious breakfast which was different each day. The room was basic yet comfortable with a wonderful view to relax after some hiking and we were offered tea everyday when we got back. Nalaka also was very helpful with organizing transfers. Can absolutely recommend!!

Very nice and pleasant hosts- they helped us getting into the hotel from the main road. It was possible to leave the luggage in the apartment, making our stay in Ella a bit longer. Amazing view, great Sri Lankas breakfast.
